Apparently the New Nord doesn't share your sentiments.

I dunno - spitfire strings, sure, whatever. I suppose if one is using their Nord as a studio instrument and needs this string sound for recordings, soundtracks, gaming music, etc - but my impression is that most studio creators are using other brands for that kind of work. Nord has always struck me as a stage keyboard maker, not a digital workstation developer.

It goes without saying that I see almost no use for spitfire strings in a live environment. These happy white and not-white guys (point taken) playing these jumpy string riffs on their free Stage 4s...when and where is that kind of music going to be performed live? You in a jazz combo that takes string breaks?
I believe it may have been mentioned before:

There is a world outside of your personal experience where people make a living playing cover gigs.

Why do you react you so negative?
I used two of the new string samples on a gig last Friday (using a paid NS4 btw. ) ;)
They are a good supplement for cover songs and blend very well with pads and other string sounds, giving them some more bite and realism.

Well, give those spitefire strings to "Mike Patrick" then watch what he could do with it!! Below one of his old demonstations with strings:

As of today, looks like Nord now has this sound library compatible with a longer list of legacy products.

UPDATE 17 JUNE 2024: The Spitfire String Quintet is now also available for Nord Stage 2 EX/2, Nord Piano 3/2 , Nord Electro 5/4/3 , Nord Wave

For what it's worth, in my original band that does a few big reunion shows a year, I have a clear use for these sounds. Can't wait to load them up and play them.

I also switched some of my string pads to Spitfire Quintet - in order not to exagerate too much. 5 string players is enough to accompany a Yesterday cover, no need for the full orchestra I had before. Even if our brass section still is 12 persons roundabout.
Stage-3-C (Rev.B 2.1) - Kawai VPC1 / Viscount Legend 70s / Yamaha CP33 - Hall of Fame & NeoVent2 - Behringer Flow-8 - K&M stands 18820+18811 / 18953+18952 - Samsung Tab S5e, MobileSheetsPro & AirTurn Duo200 - QSC K8.2s / Fischer InEars

Thanks! Things like these show that Nord still cares for older model owners, even >10 years old, not something you see so frequently in the keyboards industry...

Wow! Fantastic. I definitely must eat humble pie now , after thinking that it was marking the end of an era... All credits to Clavia/Nord.

Fantastic! These are quite an improvement on previous offerings! I've already incorporated some into my "go to" programs in my NS3C and NE5D.

It is probably fair to say that strings weren't a strong point in Clavia's armoury - great to see this has now been addressed AND legacy products supported! Now, if only something similar could be done with Nord's biggest deficiency, brass...
Nord Stage 3 Compact, Nord Piano 5 /73, Nord Electro 5D/73, MODX 6, Casio PX-5S, K&M 18880/1/2, K&M 14047, Vent 2, Lester K, QSC K8.2 x2 ......
