Hello everyone!
Recently I have bought a second hand nord drum 3P. I had fun using it but unfortunately I have an issue with it which I find annoying.
When I play random pads are being triggered. Most of the time, it happens when I hit it hard and then all the pads or most of them are being triggered quietly. The device is placed on the soft bed, so I wonder if it is possible that maybe it has to be placed on the special stand? I'm very new to this so I'm wondering.
Playing with the threshold and sensitivity doesn't solve the issue.
Fortunately, it's on warranty so I can send it for repair but I'm not certain if it's actually broken.

Re: Multiple pads being triggered on nord drum 3p
Hi David, welcome to the forum!
Usually raising the threshold should help with that. Adjust the sensitivity & curve so that you don't have to play it that hard to reach maximum volume. Not sure if placing it on a stand will reduce vibrations within the unit but it probably helps with ergonomics, and perhaps that will help you to hit the pads less hard.
Cheers,
Albert

Thank you for your reply!
Just to ensure, because as I said earlier I'm very new to drum pads. It is completely normal for the pads to be triggered silently, right?

Re: Multiple pads being triggered on nord drum 3p
I think the answer is: 'it depends'. The threshold setting is there for that reason, so it's something that occurs under certain circumstances. If you find it impossible to get rid of it, you're possibly hitting it too hard, or there is indeed something wrong with the unit. It's a bit difficult to assess from here. When mine is on the floor it's worse than when it's on a stand. Here on the forum some people reported that the rubber pads were physically touching each other, which clearly is a defect that should be looked at.
Good luck,
