IS NORD ELECTRO 6 HP SUITABLE FOR ME
Hello folks,
I am considering to get a Nord for myself, I never own a Nord so this is a new one, I love Nord Stage specially for 88 version because of its HA keybed and lot of amazing functions but my budget can not afford for this, so I am considering for electro 6 HP because of its such as a Mini NS as my point of view. I mostly playing Piano and pad ( 70%), Syn (20%), Organ (10%), type of music I playing mostly pop ballad and jazz, I am not gigging to much, mostly at home.
I go for NE6 HP because I know that this keybed is suitable for Piano player than SW.
So could you guys give me advise whether NE6 HP is suitable for me?
Thanks.

The Electro will do the job, but you should also consider the Yamaha YC88 if the budget is an issue.

If you’re only using organ 10% of the time and want a Nord HA keyboard action, you should consider the Nord Piano 5.

Hello Trung and welcome to the Forum!
I agree with ericL: If your main interest is in piano with the occasional sample (pad, synth, etc.) and you would like a good action for piano, check out the Nord Piano 5. I tried the HP action (in the Nord Electro 3) for a while and was not satisfied at all. If, on the other hand, the organ is important for you I'd opt for the waterfall action. It is not very realistic as an (acoustic) piano action of course but one may adapt, to some extent. For E-pianos and the rest the SW action is very nice.

In my eyes, the HP action of Nord instruments may be a good solution for stage use if you have to lug it around very much. It's specialised in being lightweight, not in best playability. If this isn't an issue for you, it's not worth the compromise.
If you can live without a separate organ engine, you might be better off with a Piano 5. Or go for a YC88. Or a used Stage 3 HA.
Just to compare:

| Synth | 2x (samples or engines) | 1x (samples only) | 2x (samples only) | 3x |
| Extern | 2x | no | no | (costs a synth layer) |
| Kbd zones | 4 | 2 | 2 | 4 |

Re: IS NORD ELECTRO 6 HP SUITABLE FOR ME
Welcome! I agree with the others -- for piano-centric players, the NE6 HP would not be my first choice. The action and the capabilities of the NP5 are much better from a piano player's perspective. I can forget I'm playing a digital piano when I'm playing mine.
That being said, you can't do any real B3 on the NP5, and I use a lot of organ sounds. If you cover the full spectrum of keyboard sounds, you'll find that either a weighted or unweighted action is some form of a compromise, which leads you to two keyboards, one optimized for each role.
Just remember, the Electro is intended as the gateway drug for the Stage. You never think you'll use all of its firepower -- until you do.

I think I have gear issues ....
