Presets vs Programs
Contemplating purchasing an NS4. I understand Programs and I've read the manual. What's the difference between a Preset and a Program?

Re: Presets vs Programs
A program can conrtain combinations of all the three sections; organ, piano and synth.
A preset is a preprgrammed sound, for example a synth-pad.
All the sections have a preset-library to choose from, in order to quicly make programs combining different presets.
You can also save your own presets in the preset library.

Re: Presets vs Programs
Preset is an umbrella term for any kind of program/sample/etc. memory item on an electromic instrument. On Nords it most often means programs as that is the most common memory item. But it might refer to synth programs, samples or even songs depending on the context.

Re: Presets vs Programs
Picking up from catosim's post, on the NS4, one way to look at it is that the individual organ, piano, and synth sounds are Presets, which in turn can be combined into Programs. If you're fsmiliar with other brands of keyboards, it's similar to how Korg workstations have individual Programs that can be combined into Combis; Kurzweil generally has individual Programs that can be combined into Multis or Setups; Yamaha similarly often has individual Voices that can be combined into Performances or Live Sets; Fantom has individual Tones that can be combined into Scenes, and so on. Different terminologies, but basically the same idea.
