Everything but the Drawbars!

2012-05-14 The new C2 OS v2.00 update will give your Nord C2 the same B3 organ engine and rotary emulation as the new Nord C2D. This includes the improved B3 Key Click (with an added Key Bounce menu setting, and an extra high Key Click level available in the Sound menu), improved B3 Percussion behavior, improved B3 bass response and the new 122 Rotary model from the C2D (in both close and normal mic-positioning).

Important Note: In order to fit the new features we had to take away the old "Rotary B" model, the “original Clavia rotary”. If this is your preferred Rotary model this update might not be for you. The old “b” setting has been replaced by the "122 Close" Rotary model.

This is great! And they also fixed the bass pedal midi bug that annoyed me quite a bit when I was using the C2 with Hauptwerk. Thanks, Clavia!

v2.0
All features from the C2D B3 engine and Rotary speaker simulation is ported to C2.
Setting ÒAÓ (all) has been added to System Menu item #3, Ext Rotary Speaker. This means that the pipe organ can be used in external rotary speakers.
Rotary Mode menu (Sound #12) has three entries: "A" means the 122 model, "b" means 122 model with close microphone positioning and "C" means 145. The former rotary "b" (the Clavia original) has been removed for code size reasons.
New menu setting. Sound Menu #15: Key Bounce enabled. Settings are "y" or "n".
New menu setting. Sound Menu #16: Rotary Horn/Bass Balance. Settings are 1 - 5 going from more Bass to more Horn. Setting 3 is Normal (50/50).
Fixed a Bass MIDI bug where incoming MIDI at the Bass MIDI input was not redirected to MIDI Out as it should.
Synth bass could in previous versions hang when switching between synth and wheel bass."

I have both organs and they sound the same.

So now I have two great sounding Nord Combo organs.

Both have drawbars sonce I have a homebuild two drawbarsets addon for my C2 (started its life on the c1)

This new update sounds fantastic! I spend several hours a day playing my C2, and after I installed the update, I was immediately thrilled by the improvement in the sound!

By the way, what is 'key bounce'?

Keybounce is the effect you have in a B3 when the bounces at the stop.

If you just slap a key on a B3 you get a lot of note off clicks when the key bounces against the end stop and quickly regtriggers the note.

If release slower as you normally do when you let the key travel up in contact with your finger you do not get this effect.
Try playing very connected or play with quick lift offs.

If you a quick lift off and hit the next key fast the not of click becomes a part of the next note note on click.

Key bounce setting turns this feature on and off.

Thanks Nord! I love the improvements. I think a lesser company would have tried to force us to purchase the C2D to get the improvements. I bet the guy in charge had to put up a fight for this decision. Thanks again!

Oh cool! Wow do I love that key bounce effect. Never even thought about that before but now that I hear I think it is fantastic. Now I love my c2 even more
