Hello
Not sure if this is the right category (if not, sorry!), but I couldn't find a better one!
I wanted to ask what the differences are between different sizes of Rhodes and Wurli samples. I know that for the piano sounds the main difference is the string resonance, which - to my knowledge - is absent in both Rhodes and Wurli. So... what's the deal here?
All best!

As I understood the size of sample had a lot to do with how much was a actual sample and how much was computer stretched to fit the size of the keybed. So the XL sample are the entire keyboard, where smaller sample the outer parts are stretched. Now when deal with EP like a Wurlie the keybed was smaller to start with so a smaller sample may not make as much difference. That's how I see it.
I have download the new v6 sample and got the Wurlie and Rhodes and I like them. They have a bit more definition to me and a touch brighter. Sampling is a big topic a lot of work both in the sampling and then the computer processing of each sampled note. Spitfire used to have some YouTubes of them sampling process pianos and just how involved it is.
Our enhanced Electric Pianos have been refined for optimal sound quality and the new L and XL versions feature additional velocity layers for extended and more detailed dynamic response. https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-lib ... ep-filters
Anyway the real Rhodes and Wurly also show some sympathetic resonance across their times/reeds, thought not as relevant as on an acoustic piano.
