Ok, love it or hate it, I think I have the coolest Stage 4 out there
Apart from the cool looks, these are way less slippy than the original panels and if they get knocked / scratched it doesn't show because they're solid / non-stained wood. The original Nord panels are terrible... the slightest knock or catch on the case zip and you've got a white mark you can't get rid of. Oh and these ones are a few mm narrower than the original which means the Stage 4 compact fits in the Nord case properly.
The fitted ones are solid walnut, the other photos shows a pair made out of oak (bigger, heavy, didn't like the colour).

As is often the case, I think it's a question of taste. This wood option wouldn't necessarily suit my furniture, but I'm still grateful for your commitment and the photos. It's always inspiring for me to see other crafters' work...

I'm sure we could arrange something but with shipping to US I'm sure it would be cheaper just to get someone to make some using your existing panels as a template... choose your wood!
Interesting. What I be curious about is how much weight could be saved by replacing them with some kind of lightweight, strong plastic. Any chance you could weigh your original end caps?
Nice work, but that wood color desperately calls for a black panel imho (as other people who made a similar modification in the past did nord-electro-forum-f9/help-with-custom- ... 70-30.html), the original red is such a mismatch, at least to my eyes.
But on the other hand that is quite a radical and non-reversible change... what about using a different wood, like cherry (closer to red)

Interesting... yeah I'm not about to change the keyboard colour... that's a bit too radical
Cherry - that's a good idea, might be nice. I had the walnut and oak already but the panels are so small that you could make them out of an offcut... I think the walnut was from a chopping board originally
