I think there is no tradition for it, but let’s hope the user manual will include an addendum which descibe the implications of different panel versions for the user.

Of course there is, for example the Stage 3 manual has been updated multiple times (check the last letter in the manual name) and there are paragraphs which describe functions only available with newer revisions, and it specifies so.

My wish was an addendum, a separate summarizing document.

It appears with Rev B, there won't be a way to turn "Follow Focus" off as folks can with Rev A versions like the one pictured below.

I think that function may have been totally removed in latest OSs, current NS4 manual (Rev H) states

FX FOCUS (EFFECTS FOCUS)
The focus for the Layer Effects section automatically follows the focus of Layer buttons in the Organ, Piano and Synth sections, as they are pressed on the panel.
Focusing the effects for a particular Layer or Section for editing can also be done manually, by pressing the ORGAN, PIANO or SYNTH button.
the current Fx Focus is indicated both by the yellow FX FOCUS Led next to each Section’s On button, as well as by Leds in the Fx Focus section.

no mention any more of the "Follow Focus ON/OFF", so I guess that function simply does not exist any more (probably because it was causing issues, NS4 OS history shows a few bugs related to the "FX focus" fixed in past releases so it could be related)

Based on the information MuzakaEklekta received from Nord, I believe the OS will somehow recognize Rev A units and they "will continue to work the way they currently do". I'm not sure if issues still exist, but if there are ones associated with Follow Focus turned off, they might be on the back burner now for getting fixed.

Hi, as you can read in this discussion, that button has been removed in the latest versions of NS4 panel (Rev B) and no longer supported, anyway you should be happy: you have probably the latest NS4 version ;) (you can read the version on the right side of top panel, near the Reverb)
