Nord Wavetable waveform list

Post by Johannes »

I just created a list of the wavetable waveforms that are available on the Nord Stage Classic, EX, and Nord Wave. (for the moment I only have the EX version as I don't have the other two instruments available).

Some are really nice and I almost never used them as they are less straightforward to use than the analog waveform precisely because I did not know exactly what they were all about. So I created and printed a list to memorize what is in there. For instance, #30 though named clavinet works great for a brass patch and #43 sounds IMHO better for a floydish Moog emulation than classic VA.

According to Nord the following amount of waveforms are available on the different instruments:
Stage Classic: 77* (plus 2&3op-FM, t,S,P (w/Sync), Sd, PWM, Sine, noise)
Stage EX: 77 (plus 2&3op-FM, t,S,P (w/Sync), Sd, PWM, Sine, noise)
Stage 2: 62 (plus 2&3op-FM, t,S,P (w/Sync), Sd, PWM, Sine, noise, 999 user samples)
Wave: 62 (plus 2op-FM, t,S,P (w/Sync), noise, 99 user samples)

Here you can download the file:

*: Originally, the CLASSIC came with only 32 wavetable forms. In OS 2.00, waveforms were "greatly enhanced" so I presume it now has the same set as the EX.

So, the classic and the EX don't have the same amount?

They definitly should have the same amount. The classic got the other wavetables in an update before the EX was made. But I guess the Classic started out with what Johannes wrote.

Thanks Cbas for pointing that out, I just got the info from Nord's website. Maybe they updated them to the EX set.

Yeah it's weird. I can't find any info on this for the classic on Clavia's website. Even in the updatehistory for the classic, there is no info about this.
But I remember it myself. I had the Stage Classic with the 32 wavetables. And in one of the updates it was upped to 77.

The only difference between the Classic and the EX should only be the doubled piano-memory, string resonance and the paint.
