A Nord Sequencer especially customised for the Nord.
Many of us have sequencers and these can play Virtual instruments.
The Nord Stage does such a great job overall and has some classic and unique sound building qualities. It will even play MIDI and control other instruments...........
But...................!!!!!!!!
Almost all MUST be done through a small GUI and that idea goes only so far visually. It will always be visually contrained. Therefore it cannot be the full future. It does need ot be there, but it can be enhanced.
Secondly, the Nord does not directly play VSTs (or eqiv) and (TBH), there is always going to be a VST that is better and more powerful - at a task. It's a fact, though yes, the Nord is hugely versatile. It also has a great layout.
Now it is possible to load your sound into a sequencer via MIDI. So what is the fuss? If you do this, you get nuclear scale edit capabilities in your DAW. But is it too much? Very probably yes. Picture a different route?
Step in the Red and Black Nord Sequencer:
What's it like?
Everything is customised around the Nord. It does huge amounts to increase it's power and as it can be loaded onto a laptop or smart slab. It can be taken to a gig and additionally profers a great, (dark room readable) screen companion, for the Nord.
This Sequencer shows:
- A track for each layer on the Nord - possibility of Nord specific editing controls for each track on screen.
Ability to Add VST (or equiv) tracks
Nord LIbrary controls (sort of small Cubase Media Bay)
Record tracks function with all the transport functions
Access to Nord LIbrary
Ability play backing tracks
Metronome
MIDI 1 compatible, MIDI 2 ready
Mixer
Notation? Possibly. Note: Recent developements have made it possible to accurately parse a favorite artists broadcast wave track into it's constituant parts and isolate them. Additionally the tech already exists that an audio track can be representated in notes (Melodyne). Combining these two techs would mean you could see your cover track parts in a sequencer. I call this "parsing".
Tracks would be exportable to modern sequencers for further work.
The sequencer could be a vehicle for Nord News - delivered to the eyeballs of every Nord user.
A Smart space to work on any function of the Nord, from system settings to sound customisation.
So that's the idea - obviously maleable, but i think the core of a new huge potential for the Nord.
A Nord Centric program - that adds to the incredible power of the Nord.
If Nord cannot achieve this in house, could a third party engage with Nord on such a proposition?
I think there is a market for this as a seperate Nord Product.
