Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
I have a new Stage 4 Hammer Action 73. I use the Monitor In 1/8” Jack for listening to songs during my practicing. I have seen a problem with the Monitor In jack. Unlike my previous Stage 3 Compact. The input jack connection is loose versus tight and not firmly set. You can jiggle it. On the Compact it’s tight. Therefore the Stage 4 connections are also loose resulting in channels popping in and out. It was so bad it only played out of one channel. Sweetwater sent me a new replacement and to my surprise, this newer one also has the issue. This completely surprises me for a $5000 board. I am going to keep this one but very disappointed. Has anyone also noticed this problem with their Stage 4?

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
I have noticed no difference between the 1/8" input on my NS4 vs. NS3

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
Well here’s the thing
I’ve had same problem with Stage 3
My distributor checked it out and said it’s perfect
So I was using ipad in monitor input and sometimes if I wiggled the jack it would only play on one channel although i have used the the same device into Scarlet 6I6 with no problem!!
Anyway enough of this what you need is TRRT to TRT lead converter as apple make life difficult for everyone !
I have also just bought Electro 6D and the problem is the same so awaiting my converter from Amazon
Hope this helps

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
Cancel it
I used the new lead no signal although I was assured by Nord that this was the problem
I’ve carried out the following tests
Ipad 2. Connected tip ring ring sleeve headphones to headphone socket ,output stereo
Ipad 2 Connect tip ring sleeve shure headphones to headphone socket ,output stereo
Connect 3.5mm tip ring sleeve from ipad to Nord ,output mono or intermittent
This must be a Nord problem!!
Is there anyone out there who can solve this problem? Anyone who has connected iPad to Nord without this problem
Does anyone at Nord read these posts?
I have two Nord boards and love them but this problem is really irritating me
Any help will be greatly appreciated as others must have this problem

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
Thanks, I hope someone can help. What I don’t get is that the Stage 3 monitor input is fine. What changed? Feels really cheap and not characteristic of any Nord product…especially their flagship.

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
I am going to actively pursue this problem with Nord uk as it’s clear that their inspection procedures are not comparable with mine
Your previous stage 3 showed no problems. Did you use iPad and tip ring sleeve lead to connect to monitor socket?

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
tip ring sleeve is the correct connector, NOT tip ring ring sleave.
the problem with 1/8” or 3mm jacks is that there is in fact no actual standard, and they are all a little bit different.
not to mention 3mm is not 1/8”.
so connectors and plugs may or may not mate properly.

Re: Stage 4 Monitor Input Jack Problem
Concerning stereo jacks, we (continental) Europeans are talking about 3.5 mm (mini) or 2.5 mm (micro jacks). Even if that's not the true size. Just to let you know, cgrafx. But that won't help anything in this case.
I don't see another way than testing a few cables.
