Nord 6D Piano patches
Hi i just purchased a 6D ( on Ebay , ughh ) and found that none of the sounds in the E.PIANO ( EP1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 ) CLAVINET (CA ,CB, DA, DB,) HARPSICHORD, DIGITAL and LAYER sounds are functioning. They all have the same muted low volume organ sound ( w/o adj vol knob )
Can anyone help me fix? Am old geezer, not to computer savvy, but wondering if Reset to Factory Settings would fix ? HELP PLEASE?

Re: Nord 6D Piano patches
Hi and welcome to this forum!
Getting to the factory defaults is always a good idea when buying 2nd hand instrument since you don’t know what the former owner changed - in your case the former owner may have deleted all electronic piano sounds from the Electro.
Doing a factory reset on the Nord is different from other instruments, the Nord does not have a button or function to reset it, instead you must use your computer to load the whole content to the instrument as it was when originally shipped.
First of all you must install Nord Sound Manager on your computer, you can get it here: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads ... nd-manager
You then download the factory contents from the Electro 6 section of Nord‘s download page, which can be found here:
https://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/nord-electro-6
Scroll down to the factory restore section and load the files from there, then read the instructions which are available there as well and perform the restore with the help of Nord Sound Manager.
It’s also a good idea to update the Electro to the most recent version of it’s operating system, which you will find at the very top of the Electro 6 download page (see above).
Finally it’s a must to read the Electro 6 manual, to fully understand the concept of how the instrument works and how to manage the programs and sound libraries on the instrument with Nord Sound Manager - the latest version of the manual is also available from the download page of the Electro 6.
Hope it helps!

Re: Nord 6D Piano patches
Thanks for reply.
I downloaded the sound manager but when I open it nothing happens just a blank screen. When I click on toolbar nothing opens get nothing
Also I should mention this was brand new, never used purchase
I went into downloads and downloaded different E PIANO sounds to computer, can't seem to get them into the Sound Manager to download
Would you be open to walking me through some of this on the phone? Or is there a helpdesk number I could call where they could 'hold my had' through the process?

Re: Nord 6D Piano patches
My guess is that a connector got loose during shipment. That means some set of the knobs and buttons won't be working. Fixing it requires someone to open up the keyboard, and snug down any loose connectors. Or you can send it back.
I think I have gear issues ....

walking you through this on the phone is not possible for me since I am in Germany, but you may check some YouTube tutorials to understand how all of this word. The tutorials of MyKeysToMusic are great for this: https://youtube.com/@MyKeysToMusic
His sound manager tutorials are here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvND ... XBM-9e4Lkz
Don’t worry because he talks about the Nord Stage, the process is the same for the Electro.
If OS update and factory restore does not help to get it solved you might have a hardware problem as indicated by cphollis

Re: Nord 6D Piano patches
If all you hear is a muted organ sound then such a situation could arise when a control pedal attached to the instrument is set at low volume, or eg a sustain pedal is connected to the wrong connector, and the instrument is set up to respond to the pedal.
Try to remove ALL but the power and one output/headphone connection and test again, if you haven't tried this already.
