NORD SUPPORT || Dead Key || NORD ZERO?

Post by tracycarroll »

Is there anyone Home at NORD.

I submitted a query last week about a recently abrupt dead key (lowest F#) on my two year old rarely and gently-used (studio-only) Stage 3.

Regrettably, after submitting the support request, I have received ZERO response from NORD.

The NORD "support" page actually suggests if NORD does not respond then request them to respond again.
For a premium price instrument company, is this considered normal and acceptable among the NORD community?

I need this key to function as it should. Simple as that.

Any guidance is welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hello,

Nord website has a clear statement about Support:

In need of spare parts or maintenance?
Warranty and maintenance is handled by our distributors, and in some cases by special service centers. Please consult your point of purchase for detailed information.

So you need to contact your dealer and/or US Distributor which is listed at https://www.nordkeyboards.com/distributors

PS: this an independent users forum and is not affiliated with Clavia/Nord.

The US distributor is American Music and Sound:

https://americanmusicandsound.com

They can connect you with a repair center. This is most likely not a warranty repair due to the age of your instrument.

Your board is out of warranty. Get it fixed by your nearest capable tech.

I recently lost my middle C on my 18 month old NS3C .. I took my board into the tech, and got it back 5 long weeks later.. He replaced all the key contacts and the issue was resolved.

Try to find someone who can do that for you. Mine was not a dust issue unfortunately. Luckily, I live in the big city and we have a couple good techs available, but they are swamped so you just need to get in line. He gave me my old key contacts back fyi (see pic).

Moral of the story is meant for others reading this post - "Don't waste your time trying to contact Nord about an issue that is out warranty. The repair info is on their website for a reason."

If your older Ford truck goes wonky, you don't call Dearborn, you call a local dealership or local trustworthy mechanic.
