Yeah SynthCloud! Agree with WannitBBBad they all sound the same to me! I had better brass sounds on my Roland D-50... Still have it! May sample some sounds from it...
Nord Stage 3 Compact, Roland AX-7 keyboard guitar. Past keyboards and modules. Roland A-70 Controller, Kurzweil K25OORS Sampler, Roland D-50, Korg NSR5 module, Juno 60, Roland 106, Korg Poly 6, Yamaha DX-7, Hammond B-3 with 122 Leslie...

I'm looking forward to seeing how the brass samples sound on the NS4. On the NS3 I've found that using the LP M or LP HP filters (wide open) gives me a fuller sound to work with than the others. To your point about adding the B3, it's hard not to like it with a lot of things - sort of like bacon :)
Would be nice for the stage 4 to come out with better brass samples, and be able to sample back on the stage 3..

Real nice Nord came out with a nice new user control interface and added more functionality to the synth and effect, but seems like a lot of people were hoping for refreshed and new library sounds. I think that new and refreshed sounds need to be next update because that benefits all Nord models. Having a big free library of sounds is part of what attracts people to Nord I know that is part of what sold me on Nord, but that library needs to be maintained and updated too.

Speaking about sound libraries... one should be aware that while user created .nsmp3 files will load just fine on the NS4 (after being converted automatically to .nsmp4 by the Nord Sound Manager), the Nord Sample Library 3.0 ones won't. And as the contents of the Nord Sample Library 3.0 and 4.0 differ, this can be an issue for people heavily relying on the Nord Sample Library 3.0... which is not my case but yeah, I thought I had to bring that up... just in case... :)

Absolutely need "UPDATED" sounds & samples for all Nord boards...
It only makes sense to Clavia selling a expensive board that they always have promoted that they give you quality sounds for free!

What did you think the "B" stands for in "B3"? This is common knowledge :)

Nord is still working on the OS of the Stage 4, have released v0.96 now:

v0.96 (2023-02-27)
  • Various updates related to production test routines
  • Pressing "Cancel" from "Store Program To" did not correctly restore Program name, if having navigated to other Program. Fixed
  • Fixed a number of issues related to copy and paste of Programs
  • Certain menu pages had incorrect numbering. Fixed
They might probably reach the first master version v1.0 by the time of GA .....

I hope this is not definitive because lib v4 is really smaller than all previous versions (for now at least).

Not quite sure, but at 982 MB (extracted from the backup file including folders) it looks like the NS4 might have a little room for a few samples before having to delete any as well. BTW, the last Nord Piano 5 backup I downloaded had 949 MB (including folders) of samples.

by lib v4 really smaller, I was referring to the total sample available on the Nord Sample Library v4 versus (v3 + v2 + v1 archived)
