No, you can't use a layer at the same time in Extern and Synth function - either or.

But I hope it should be possible to play a Synth layer and just send the same notes on that layer's MIDI channel out to control an external sound source additionally. Without any further controlling (no CC or PC sends). That's what I hope for.

I hope the external section can be use with the 3 internal layer synths at the same time.
I do not mind only being only able to play the external sounds without the possibility to change volume, etc.

So that we can have 3 internal synths + 3 external.

Manual: "there can be up to three Extern Layers – if all Synth Layers are set to Extern – but note that Layers set to Extern cannot be used for internal Synth sounds."

So I guess we are not loosing an internal synth (crossing fingers)…
I asked a question on the video if they could validate this.

Nope, when you set a Synth layer in "Extern" mode you lose it as a synth, that's what the manual clearly states and tomzi reported (literally).

Could you tell me which page exactly cause I’m not sure as I read it too but could be wrong.
The presenter on the video showed us how to change the parameters on the synth menu for the extern section but it doesn’t mean that you can revert back to the internal synth in order to control it.

It is possible to store presets within Preset Library. That seems like a nice feature

According to the manual, layer midi channels are receive only.
