I really enjoyed the andertons video.
I thought the demo of the triple sensor was worthwhile seeing.
I also like the fact that the new single sustain pedal has enhanced functions.
It says it can be used also for rotor speed. Wonder if you can assign it to work as sustain on pianos and eps and rotor speed on organs?

yes no more Song mode. Nord is focusing on live configuration. Now each organ / piano / synth preset can be saved individually. And finally the Program level is kind of Song more where you can store your combinaison of preset.cooltour wrote:It seems like there is no longer a SONG MODE in the NS4, right?
Means in front of you, you have 8 programs to switch with one button. Switch page, again 8 other programs. I see that as a replacement of the Song mode.

Yes. In fact, that has been the default functionality of the sustain pedal for twenty years, since the first Electro.mozart999uk wrote:I really enjoyed the andertons video.

Ha really? Ooops. New to the party here - hee hee. So really the only improvement is half pedalling and noise triggering?analogika wrote:Yes. Yes in effect seems like it.. 16 programs for one event for me definitely seems manageable, since 3 synths is now possible it can be worked around without SONG mode.florence wrote:yes no more Song mode. But that's not the same! I play in various tribute bands and organized the NS3 so that I saved all the songs in a row for each band in song mode. For example:
2:01 Bohemian Rhapsody
2:02 A Kind of Magic
2:03 Under Pressure
2:04 Radio Gaga
3:01 Walk of Life
3:02 Money for Nothing
3:03 So Far Away
3:04 Brothers in Arms
...
I think it's a mistake from Clavia to take this brilliant feature away

yes not exactly, but program Page 1 is then for Bohemian, you have 8 programs (before 5 in Song mode)
then switch to Page 2, you have 8 other programs for Kind of Magic...
But yes you lose the option to name Page 1 as Bohemian...

Re: NORD STAGE 4 officially announced for February 16th 2023
That's an interesting video showing many of the new or enhanced functions of the Stage 4. Most of the discussion here is around high price, memory sizes still not big enough (they never will be by the way), non-improvement of the organ engine, no song mode anymore, 6-12 years old hardware technology (which is speculation and not proved at all by the way) etc. All of them are being critizised which is absolutely valid, but ..... no one (or just a few which are not heard through the continous noise of the complainers) mention the positive changes and improvements the Stage 4 brings to the table.tomzi wrote:World's First Look at the NEW Nord Stage 4 - At The Nord Factory!
I guess it's unfortunately natural human behaviour to always look for the hair in the soup, and we all are trained like this since decades - just look at the news every day where I do see >90% of the reports talking about bad, negative things and barley none talking about something nice or positive things.
I suggest to also have a look at this video with these many positive changes and new features, taking them into account to get a well-balanced view.

I really think that is a shame. I like song and setlist mode on my NE5D. It seems to me they could have easily kept the function without too much trouble.
