That would be a sure way for a foundering business to finish themselves off. Especially if they just release an "Ex" version of the 6-year old Stage at NAMM.

Speaking of NAMM, it's in about ten weeks. I know we are all clutching ourselves for some grand reveals of new products then - maybe that's why Clavia doesn't answer phone calls or emails, they are SO BUSY getting those ready - but I kinda have my doubts. We are already in the 40th anniversary year of the company and their website hasn't said a word about that, or anything. No tease or tickle on the website, just the usual tedious clips from Jesus Molina and Elijah Fox, and the blurb about that Pearl sample which no-one asked for.

SO - prove me wrong, Clavia. Hit NAMM with a bang with a Stage 4 (or a completely new model!) that isn't priced like a used Steinway. Fix your piano library so everyone can download the upgraded samples that are only sort of available to Nord Piano users. Answer your customer calls and emails. Get your sh*t together or sell your company to someone who can.

Relax man… nobody push (force) you to buy nord… you can go buy other brand…

Soon they will announce the new instrument

The fact that nobody's coercing us into buying Nord keyboards doesn't mean we can't criticise the company. It's just my personal opinion but most of what Gambold has been writing's hardly confutable. Try writing Crumar, Viscount or MAG Organs, which are even smaller than Nord (Crumar are literally two people): you'll find out they actually reply to mails, and sometimes even tease new products on their socials or ask users for opinions!

Some of you seem to be under the wrong impression that ignoring customers is either a totally acceptable behaviour or something that can't be helped given Nord's (relatively) small organisation. In my humble opinion, both are wrong.

I didnt say that gambold is wrong about what he said.. i just say that the things is like that and we cant so anything to change it.. and we cant compare nord with crumar… check how many sales crumar has and how many nord… if someone dont like the support and always complain about it then he will never be happy and enjoy his instrument.. i also dont like many things that has not been solved on nord grand.. but i have to live with it.. because anything else from any other brand is lower in sound samples and keybed quality…. And nord says yes you are right we will fix these problems on future update..

And in the end (i say that to my self also) … the whole market in the world is Offer and request… many offers and my requests.. no one force me to buy anything.. the same thing is for everyone

It's a mass produced instrument and it is what it is, you either buy one and accept it or find another product. Maybe make some wishlist requests and maybe one of those wishlist requests might get implemented. But have to remember a lot people buy the product and a lot of people make wishlist requests so theirs might be chosen over yours that's life. I spent many years in software at the major companies and seen lots of threads like this and everyone things what they what is automatically what everybody wants and the whole company should stop what they're doing and changing things. It don't work that way and companies that trying usually end up going out of business because they get too scattered going too many directions.

I started in the software biz before there was a the web (WWW) and customers reported what they saw as bugs and they made wishlist requests and then went back to work doing there best with what the product was at the time. Later on updates and upgrades would come out and they'd get them or decided to try another product that's business. But since the WWW has come about most the people act like 800 pound gorilla making demands not request. They think everything they say represents the entire world make a lot of noise and demand attention. That type person usually just gets labeled as a complainer and Marketing just ignores them. Now people who makes constructive criticisms, offer wishlist items, keyword Wish, and do it on a regular basis not in public but to the Marketing team those are the people that start getting calls from the company for discussion groups to hear prospective product ideas. They get invited to be part of the Alpha testers as changes are getting prototyped, they become Beta testers, and the real good ones get free product as a thanks for their input and time. So endless whining get you nowhere.

Now I'd say the NAMM show is not far off mid-April. Were in February so I would say whatever Nord is up to is already done being that lead time for hardware is quite long. Whatever there will be is in final testing and probably already in the hands of their main endorsees for comments. So at this point all we can do is wait for NAMM and see what appears from Nord and all the instrument manufacturers. With the current economy I'm not expecting a lot and probably more focus on the lower prices products that will sell in a slow economy.

So time to chill and wait to see what happens in April at NAMM 2023.

I am not sure of the definitions of mass produced or handcrafted but the production line of Clavia seems quite manual to me:

Sweden is a highly developed country with good salaries, free schooling including university level, free healthcare etc. What people from USA will call a communist state…. ;)

"Mass produced" in general means the product is standardized, with no customizations per item (except official options/configurations, if foreseen in the product definition).

A "mass product" can be also handcrafted if the process is repeated with no variations in steps and materials and anyway at Clavia all the electronics, keyboards, chassis etc. are all but "manually produced" item by item, assembly and testing can be manual (but repetitive) but Nord keyboards are by all means a "mass product".

Curious what that means. I wasn’t aware that Sweden (or the USA) was in some kind of economic malaise. Last I looked unemployment in the USA is at an historical low and people are buying and flying with gusto. While Sweden may not be so blessed, it’s hardly in a recession.

Also every other music company is making new products, updating their websites, and supporting their customers. Business as usual. I haven’t heard them complaining about the economy. I haven’t heard Clavia complaining either.
