MIDI controling
Hi,
I have just got an Electro 4D. Is there a MIDI function so that I can easily change between MIDI, NORD or MIDI+NORD?
I have a sound module (Roland JV1010). I have set up midi connection and it works fine playing the sounds on the sound module. I
If I want the Nord to play sounds from JV1010 i Need to turn volume down Nord and turn volume up on JV1010.
Is it possible to awoid this by pressing a bottom on the Nord - eg via Program?
All the best

Re: MIDI controling
Hi, you can set the NE4D to MIDI Local Control = OFF (see NE4D manual, MIDI menu + chapter 8 on working with MIDI )

Re: MIDI controling
Can you create a program with no sound engine active? On my Stage 3, it's easy to achieve. Or you create a program with lowered volume of the sound engines (not overall volume). That's half of what you want to achieve.
As your Electro doesn't have an Extern section, you can't program a MIDI command to control the external volume on the Roland, I guess. And I'm not sure if the solution proposed by maxpiano is a per-program setting - only then it would help to disable the Roland and activate the Nord with a single button.

Re: MIDI controling
Unfortunately NE4D doesn't provide a per-section volume (being monotimbral) and MIDI Local is a global setting, but it is the only alternative way to achieve what the OP is asking. If a computer/tablet is part of the setup, then it could be used with an appropriate MIDI Routing app to manage when to have NORD, JV or NORD+JV in a more flexible and per-program way.FZiegler wrote:Can you create a program with no sound engine active?
