Re: Basic help request - Adding a sound file to my Electro6D
Factory restore is only a side issue, a stopgap solution that should not be necessary here if we can finally get to the core of the problem and gather the necessary information piece by piece. ....

Re: Basic help request - Adding a sound file to my Electro6D
Yea that might help - go and try the following steps in this exact order (note: I don’t have my Nords with me since I am in COVID quarantine, so much about Nord Sound Manager is just from memory and might look slightly different on your Mac). Some of the steps might not be necessary but they don’t harm, so try it exactly like this:
Close Nord Sound Manager on your .Mac
Power off the Electro
Unplug the USB cable from the Electro
Power up the Electro
Go to the system settings of your Electro and switch off memory protection of it’s still on (you may need to search through the various pages of the system settings to find that option)
Power off the Electro
Connect the USB cable to the electro and make sure it’s also still plugged I to your Mac
Power on the Electro
Launch Nord Sound Manager on your Mac. If all is ok it should synchronize with your Electro and after that show the current content of your Electro
Go to “Samp Lib” on Sound Manager and check how much memory is available in that section. I think you have to scroll down to the bottom to get this information.
Check if the available amount is more than the file size of the sample file which should be sent to the Electro. If that does not fit please delete some of the samples which are marked as “unused” in Sound Manager - to do this klick on one of the samples to be deleted and chose Delete from the menu section at the top of the Sound Manager window. Continue deleting unused samples until the free amount of memory is enough to hold the new bells samples
Klick on “Sound Download” in Sound Manager, there should be an option to choose a file. Use this option from Sound Manager, navigate within this option from Sound Manager to your Nord transfer waiting room folder on your desktop, select the sample you like to send to your Electro like for example “Church Bells_SO 3.2.nsmp3” and confirm the download. It then should be transferred to the Electro, this might take a moment or two since Sound Manager is checking the content of your Electro first before saving the sample on your instrument
It should end up with a successful message in Sound Manager, in that case you should be able to find this sample in the list of the Samp Lib section in Sound Manager, you just have to check which storage slot was chosen by sound manager to save it - it’s usually the first one which is not occupied by any other sample. Repeat the last step for all other samples you like to send to the Electro
If it was not successful please post any error message or similar information given by Sound Manager

So you mean that there isn't any program overwritten as ReallyBrown assumed in post #8? It's all still in the waiting room, so no need to restore anything?

Re: Basic help request - Adding a sound file to my Electro6D
I would go step by step, solving the problem with his initial intention first (loading a bells sample). If this works, means the general way is clear, he could check if something else is missing which used to be there before the upload of the directory/bundle or whatever. If necessary then look at doing a restore next (even if that means that the bells samples would have to be loaded again after that). But there is a chance that this is not necessary, because either nothing was replaced or something was replaced which was not in use anyway.
Trying to solve two different problems at the same time will likely lead to confusion

OK, so we only prefer different approaches to the same goal.
