No B3 output on ch's 3 and 4 when Drive engaged.
No B3 output on ch's 3 and 4 when Drive engaged.
I have ch's 1 and 2 going to my Roland amplifier, and 3 & 4 going to my Tascam interface. I can record piano and B3 organ, but when I engage the drive for B3, I lose output on ch's 3 & 4.
Any idea why?

When using the rotary effect the organ is always routed to output 1 & 2. You can route the organ without the rotary effect to audio output 3 & 4 but when you activate the rotary effect drive the audio defaults to output 1 & 2.
Actually this is a nice feature if you use an external Leslie speaker or pedal. I usually use a Leslie speaker for B3 routed to output 3. If I for some reason don’t want to use the external Leslie I simply activate the rotary effect to have the organ with internal rotary mixed to output channels 1 & 2.When using output 3 I don’t use the rotary drive but the normal drive from the output effect section.

Just use the morphable drive from the effects section, not the rotary unit's one. - OK, Valpuris was faster a second time.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to figure out how to do that, but does the morphable drive from the effects section sound the same as the rotary one?

I don't have an answer to that question. But playing live, I don't care.
It might be easier for you to set a stereo DI box (with audio-thru) between NS3 and Tascam in order to split your signal from Output 1&2.

No, it is different, but you may try to use the Twin or JC emulations rather that the standard Amp Sim and find one that matches your tastes best. EQ is also important to shape the overdriven sound.jmm55 wrote:Thanks for the replies. Good idea. I'll have to do this. I want to record the drive on the B3 as simply as possible.FZiegler wrote:I don't have an answer to that question. But playing live, I don't care.

Which Tascam interface is it? Normally you can also the soundcard passing the sound of its inputs to the speakers directly (Hardware monitoring), so no need to add anything else, just NS OUT 1/2 to Tascam IN 1/2 and Tascam to computer via USB + to Roland Amp via its outputs (with HW monitoring enabled or SW monitoring, if HW not available and you can accept a small latency)

I couldn't find an information if the Tascam US-16x08 has direct monitoring without any latency. It has XLR inputs anyway. And it has a compressor built-in: Maybe jmm55 wants some additional comp on his monitor but not on the recording. That's why I suggested a DI/split box.

He could still disable the built-in comp of the Tascam and place the additional comp between the Tascam and the monitors, so obtain what you describe also with the solution I proposed. I see that the US 16x=8 features list mention "On-board DSP mixer for monitoring" and "Low-latency monitoring via the DSP Mixer" so I'd say it has the features to do what I suggested. https://www.tascam.eu/en/us-16x08 ("Features at a glance" section).FZiegler wrote:I couldn't find an information if the Tascam US-16x08 has direct monitoring without any latency.
