Sustain pedal with pedal noise

OK, I have to put my first positive experience into perspective after playing with it a bit longer: As others have already reported, the Korg DS1-H occasionally "loses" the open sustain, i.e. the pedal "closes" even though it is fully pressed down. But this behavior appears completely irregular and not reproducible.

The DS1-H can also not be used as a "normal" pedal (i.e. without pedal noise) on the Stage, since it does not work with the other settings (open or close). What a pity, because it is simply an excellent and high-quality part.

Is there any way to modify the pedal so that it is definitely "fully open" when pressed down?

Same problem too. It worked well for a week, then for a few days, even if pressed all the way down, it does not maintain sustain but generates a muffled sound.

No solution?

Bad potentiometer or slippage of the shaft for example, in any case if it works it is just casual, because (like it or not) the Sustain Pedal inputs of Nord keyboards do not foresee a pot.

Ok Maxpiano, I think I'll return it. I still don't understand if with the Nord Single Sustain Pedal, the Pedal Noise works. I could hypothesize buying this.

Unfortunately not, the only way to make Pedal Noise work is using the Nord Triple Pedal (or sending a continuous MIDI CC64 from an external master/controller, as you can read if you look at this discussion from the beginning), so I suggest you buy any on/off sustain pedal you like, not necessarily the Nord original one (which btw is a Fatar VFP1 with a Nord sticker on it).

I tried it with my new Electro 6D. It was a bit sketchy in the beginning because sometimes it won’t hold the Sustain, but today was working fine. The thing is that I feel that the keys feel a bit different almost like they got a bit of lag and the sounds coming out of the keyboard seem different, the reverb is muffled. Could I have damaged the Electro 6D with this pedal ? I didn’t know that it was a continuous sustain pedal. Only after some research I found out that Electro 6D supports only on/off pedals. I’m thinking about the trs vs ts connections. Maybe something about the ring connection caused a misbehavior in the keyboard.

You shouldn't have damaged anything, try to reset the Sustain Pedal Type to "Auto" in the System menu and then use a standard on/off pedal.

Long-term experience I operate 2 Korg DS1 H pedals, one of them since the beginning of 2020, both have so far reliably performed half pedal function in contrast to the original triple pedal, which often releases the sustain function when fully depressed. Once one DS1 H, the felt stop has been compressed a little, so that the resistance value increases again when pedaling hard through the 0 passage. The NS3 likes to see something between 270 and 600 ohms when the pedal is pressed through. Simply fill up the thickness of the DS1 H felt until the desired resistance value is reached again when full pedaling. If anyone has any tips on how to get the original Tripplepadal reliable again, I have already cleaned the contacts.

The original NTP1 uses rubber contacts of the same type of the ones used on the keyboard, so when cleaning is not enough you may need to replace them (check also that they are not damaged/broken, opening te eNTP and inspecting their top side then trying to push them down manually, to see if they close the contacts properly)
