'Unused' in Sound Manager
Hi, Ive a new Nord Piano 2 and I want to get the new Italian Grand on to the machine. I cant seem to get it to not say 'unused' in the SOund Manager. Its driving me nuts. Ive watched videos and read the manual. Im stuck. I know it has to be assigned to a program or somwthing but I cant figure it out. Help! Thanks in advance,

Re: 'Unused' in Sound Manager
Hi!
From what I've undrestood reading your post, you've downloaded the Fazioli p-no and put it on your NP2. Am I right (sorry for my English, it no so good)? But the new sound you've put on your NP should not be assigned to any programm, that's why you can see the "unused" message in the sound manager. It doesn't do anything to prevent to work the italian grand p-no sound properly, it just means that it doesn't have any connection to other samples (or not in use by any programm). Also, you've probably had deleted some other p-nos before you could upload that italian grand to free some spase, so you can relink any pianos (instead of deleted) manually using sound manager (version 6.26). I hope this helps a bit... Good luck!

Not sure you even still have the Nord, but I'm having exactly the same problem. Been trying for days to install White Piano large.cliofreak wrote:Hi, Ive a new Nord Piano 2 and I want to get the new Italian Grand on to the machine. Any luck? Find the answer?
I've been able to "substitute" over another piano- but I always get the "unused" note next to the downloaded piano program when filling an empty piano position.

Re: 'Unused' in Sound Manager
1. You need the memory protection to be unlocked;
2. have the Nord Sound Manager installed; on Windows, you may need a USB driver, too;
3. you need free space in the piano sample section - maybe need to delete another piano sample;
4. download your piano sample from the Nord website to your computer, then from your computer to the instrument using the NSM;
5. now you're done with the computer: Get onto your instrument and dial in your piano sample; you may save it as a new program if you're done with the settings. Play it and enjoy.
I still try to figure out what your problem may be...

Re: 'Unused' in Sound Manager
Hi, igor-jz is right: when the Sound Manager says "unused" it simply means that the sound (sample) IS actually downloaded and present in the memory of your Nord but you haven’t used it so far in any of the programs. That’s why it’s "unused".
Just create an initial piano program or chose any piano program and change the piano in the piano section to the Italian Grand. After having saved a program with this Italian Grand piano the "unused" in the Sound Manager will disappear.

@KipDuff: What I can see is that you seem to have sufficient time to ask the same everywhere here. I‘d suggest taking only five minutes and read the user manual, downloadable here:

It answers all your questions.
Cheers
