Stage 3 Extern Question?

Stage 3 Extern Question?
I've been utilizing the Extern midi Section on my Stage 3 88. There's an led (green?) below the knob and directly to the left of "value" ...WTF is this LED for? I have never seen it lit. The Stage 3 manual does not discuss this LED.

That's for the Morph, as other rotary controls on the NS3 also the Extern knob can be morphed.
