Nord Piano 5 73 Case

I was thinking of stuffing an effects pedalboard in there - the dimensions definitely help in figuring that out before I commit to buying the case. Thanks again

Just be careful that the top pocket is not as resistant as the rest of the bag. It's made of much thinner material with no padding.
In 2 years of use with my Stage 2 88, the music stand pins punched holes in the sides of the pocket, and it weighs only a coupl of kgs. I would not put a heavy pedalboard there, probably many kilos with sharp corners etc.

In general, I was not very satisfied with the 88 bag, it was HUGE and heavy and especially the outer pocket was just not durable enough. I'd recommend it for lighter objects with no spikes or corners, like music sheets, cables, tablets etc. But I found it was impossible to use it to full capacity (it's HUGE!) without overloading it and damaging it.

Dimensions of the top pocket... 900 x 330 x 70 mm ... more than enough room for the nord music stand ( in photo) .
(If you have nord legs/braces, I believe they fit in the pocket also..though I happily use a Z stand )

I carry pedal, cables, charts separately.

I was just wondering about that. I don’t feel like throwing the pedal and the music stand in the nord soft case. I don’t feel too good about the metal pins from the music stand together with the pedal in the same pocket.

Anyone who throws it all together in the front pocket of the nord soft case?

If you put everything in one case, you collect weight. Which wears your case and your back. I've given up that idea. But has nothing to do with a Nord soft case -- mine is a Gator.

I can confirm that the Nord Piano 5 73 and Nord Stand EX legs fit into the case ("Nord Soft Case for Nord Electro HP") very nicely. The total weight of keyboard, stand, bag, and the Nord Single pedal is 50 lbs. That's still a bit heavy to carry around in a bag without wheels, but not too bad to carry on your back once you get past the awkwardness of trying to swing it over your shoulder and get your arms through the straps.

I got everything as a "travel" setup (I don't gig but I like to have something I can bring to practice on for extended trips). I still find it a little on the heavy side for that purpose so I recently got a Roland FP-10 and a Casio case that fits it like a glove for that purpose (although the stand has to be carried separately). I use a laptop with VSTs so I wasn't using most of the features of the Piano 5 anyway.

So that's over 20 lbs for the case alone, vs. 6.25 lbs for the Nord case.

Heavy cases are nice if you don't care much about weight and you think your keyboard might fall down a flight of stairs or something, but I'm constantly in search of the perfect setup that's light enough to carry around and I'm only really concerned about minor bumps and scrapes.

FWIW, I have been using the Nord case for my NP5 73 and I find it very well designed for purpose. Nice wheels, convenient handle mount for towing, snug fit for board, etc. Much easier getting it in and out of gigs than my NP4 88 and I don't miss the extra keys. The case appears to offer enough protection for my worst-case scenarios: fall off truck during load/unload, fall down stairs, etc. Yes, it's pricey as are all things Nord ...

It gets very confusing using terms like "the Nord case" since there are so many of them and the naming isn't always consistent. The ones with wheels tend to be much heavier than the ones without, so that the wheels almost become a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you don't get wheels then you don't need wheels but if you get wheels then it's heavy enough that you have to have wheels

The one I have that fits the NP5 73 perfectly, weighs just 6.25 lbs, and where I confirmed you can fit the Stand EX into the side pocket is the "GBHP" AKA "Nord Soft Case HP" AKA "Nord Soft Case for Nord Electro HP." That one doesn't have wheels.

I think that one you're talking about must be the "GBP73" AKA "Soft Case for Nord Electro HP with Wheels". Sweetwater claims it only weighs 8lbs but that seems unusually light for a wheeled case. Can you confirm if that weight is accurate?
