Nord Electro 6D 73 ordered - 3 MONTHS DELAY!!!!

I've ordered a new Electro at last after my 3 73 was stolen on the day of a gig a few years ago.

When ordering, it said 5-7 week delay, stock on order. Now it says 3 months. Others retailers say up to 20 weeks!

I'm scouring for a second hand one in the meantime, but would really like to know why there's such a delay. Should I blame brexit or COVID or be more positive and presume they're waiting for the new unicorn NE7?

I've sent an email to Nord to ask if they can recommend a retailer who can supply any faster.

There are various reasons which could cause such a delay but most likely the global supply shortages on chips and other electronic parts.

First of all the biggest factory with chipsets in japan burned this summer of 2021.. also the covid that effected the employees.. lets say for examble they had 200 people working on the factorys for chipsets or keybed etc each company… covid had limitation of space between each worker so the 200 people became 20 people working in the factory rooms.. which means 10% produce from the 100% that it was.. this effected all companys that didnt have huge stock of supplys.. nord isnt a big supplier like korg or yamaha thats why is the first out of stock brand..

Also diesel gone expensive and shipping expenses from china to europe gone 500% up..

And now war is going to effect a lot alot more the whole market..

Get ready for huge price ups on everything…

i have no useful answer, but I love the audacity of using maestro in your nick on a keyboard forum. I did the same, I used Count because I'm confident I can count to 12 faster than anyone else here. Defo faster than these hacks, but maybe not as funky:

Global shipping is totally messed up. Chip shortage. Covid. Oil (i.e. shipping) prices going up. And now the war. Everything is unavailable or delayed, prices are on the rise, and things will not get better anytime soon.

All valid points, but the length of delay doesn't seem equal across other models, not even close.

CountFosco, that was my MySpace name 20 years ago after a colleague once mockingly called me it when testing instruments we were buying in Cash Converters. I've never even been a Spanish teacher!

Looking around in stores (not only keyboards), it seems it's all a big mess. Certain manufacturers are shipping (almost) regularly, certain others are completely stalled.
I think it depends a lot on every manufacturers' specific suppliers, importers distributors etc. UK surely has the additional obstacle of post-brexit difficulties, but I don't think that's a major factor. The Electro may be delayed more than other products because it's probably Clavia's bestseller, so shops ran out of stock faster, and Clavia ran out of parts faster.
If you have urgent need for gigging, I'd suggest to look on the used market and grab one as fast as you can, because availability isn't going to get better anytime soon, and in response to this used prices are already going up.
