Hello! Does anyone know why Nord decided to go with the extremely unrealistic and synthesized church organ sound for the Stage 3 instead of the great sampled church organ from the nord C2D? The C2 has the different registers such as trumpet, strings, flutes and principals all with ON/OFF drawbars/stops. Like a real organ. The Stage 3 version only uses one tonecolor it different pitches and uses the drawbars like on a hammond organ. Being a church musician by day this HURTS MY SOUL. It gives a very unprofessional feeling.
Being a church organist and also playing in a rock band I want to bring not just the hammond organ in to our sound, but also the for me "real thing". The C2D is the only option for this, so I have to carry around my Stage 3 AND C2D to our gigs... Is there ANY way to put the C2's church organ sounds on the Stage 3? Wanting to be able to use the drawbars as organ stops, uploading it in some way into the sample synth is just not an option Or can this even be done "officially" via nords website or something like that?
Long story short: I want the C2's church organ in my Stage 3 instead of the cheep and crappy one. Is it possible?

I also had the C2 (v2.00) in the past and loved its beautiful baroque church organ.
So also for me it was a big disappointment when discovering that the "flagship" Stage 3 only have two more or less useless church organs on board. It was the same disappointment when I also had noticed that the possibilities to modify the Hammond settings are extremely limited compared even to the old C2. Two huge minus point in my opinion and somehow a shame for a "flagship".
Sorry a real church organist finds the S3 engine lacking. Well, there's always the Stage 4 perhaps. A counterpoint? I'm using the S3 pipe organ engine in a bunch of classic rock settings, and it can sound spectacular in places where you want a big, dramatic sound. It contrasts well with the familiar B3, vox, farf, etc.

I'm not even sure the "Pipe 1" is supposed to replicate a pipe organ. The name would suggest so, but judging from the manual description, it seems they wanted to created a "quirks-free" Hammond or something like that. I haven't found much use for it but it doesn't sound bad after all. With the rotary enabled it sounds close to the Hammond than to a pipe organ.
To get a baroque organ, you might need to use the synth engine with samples. But no way to freely swap between different stops except for different presets.

Hi there. I feel your pain. I've not played a C2D but am a church organist trying to replicate a church organ on NS3. I quite like the Pipe 1 but dislike Pipe 2 intensely. I'm quite new to Nord and dont have much time to play - but this is what I have done so far. I use the 8' on Pipe 1 as a soft baroque organ. Then I'm using the Program banks and preset 2 as pistons to build up the sound. Im not in front of my Nord at moment or else I could detail my settings but for example I have Pipe 1 8' as program 1 and then under preset 2 I think I've added 4' to kind of replicate a piston 1 and 2 situation. Then I would go onto program 2 (preset1) with the same setting but added a synth church flute. Then Prog 2/preset 2 Ive added eg the 2'. I'm guessing my programs at the moment cos as I say Im not by my nord - but each program and preset builds up the general sound until I'm on full organ by Prog bank 5/preset 2. Does this make sense? However I do take your point about it being the same tone colour throughout. The only way I've found past this is in combination of synth organ flutes and change depths/reverbs etc. I should look at Pipe 2 more cos I think the MyKeystoMusic Youtube channel has something maybe a couple of years back on church organ in NS3 which is excellent. There is probably a way of recording a real church organ and using that through Nord Sample editor but that is beyond me at the moment. Hope some of that helps. Pete

I keep reading this, and I think it is a fundamental misunderstanding of the product line:
The Stage series is not a "flagship" in the sense that it is the best in everything it does — it is a lesser piano than the Nord Grand (the "flagship" piano), it is a lesser synth than the Wave 2 or even the Lead, and it is a lesser organ than the C2D.
It is simply a combination of what Clavia considers the most useful aspects of those three things into a single, well-usable product, at a price that people will be willing to pay.
It is inherently a compromise.
Calling it a "flagship" simply guarantees disappointment.
