MIDI Controller Keyboard

Post by JohnT »

Hello All,

Can anyone recommend an external secondary MIDI controller with the same or similar keybed as the Electro SW61?
I have tried a few 61 key controllers but, have not found one that feels similar. Before buying and selling several more, I thought I would ask you guys what you like.

Thanks,
John

There are lots of boards that use (or have used) the same Fatar TP/80 as the Electro, though often with springs that have less tension on them. Most of them have sounds, but you can still use them as just controllers. In a model available new, the least expensive is probably the Numa Organ 2. If you're looking at used stuff, you could look at an older Electro of course, and also other models like the earlier Numa Organ, the Hammond XK1, the last generation of the standalone Korg CX3, and although somewhat rare, maybe you'll come across the soundless Studiologic "VMK-161 Plus Organ."

If you want exactly the same keybed, anotherscott already answered, if you look for alternatives in some older discussions on teh same topic some people found the Novation Impulse a good enough solution, though it is not a pure waterfall.
