alternatives to the Nord monitors?
Are there any monitors out there that are equal in sound quality to the nord monitors? I do not want to attach them to the keyboard, so I do not need the brackets. I do mean "equal in sound quality." Not looking to sacrafice sound quality for a few hundred bucks. I love the grand piano sounds on my electro 6d, and I am learning that they only sound good through certain amplification systems.
I currently use a mixing board into a qsc 12" speaker and it sounds great, but I want to leave that at the jam space. Need something for practicing at home.

I am looking for something like this as well … need a little something (mono is ok for me) maybe like a nearfield speaker? to put on the floor right to the side of my sofa to plug my nord wave in. Did you came up with a solution for your needs?

Try Yamaha HS7 - Excellent sound if you place the speakers next to the piano, and the right amount of bass.

I have heard good things about the yamaha HS7s, but they seem the same price as the nord monitors.NoDirection wrote:Try Yamaha HS7 - Excellent sound if you place the speakers next to the piano, and the right amount of bass.

Here in Norway they are often advertised on the second hand market for around 150$ per speaker (since they are popular) - I bought mine second hand.playsabadguitar wrote:I have heard good things about the yamaha HS7s, but they seem the same price as the nord monitors.NoDirection wrote:Try Yamaha HS7 - Excellent sound if you place the speakers next to the piano, and the right amount of bass.
