Deoxit might help but you'll have to disassemble the entire button mechanism and coat all the copper wear surfaces with it. Its tedious and will need to be repeated from time to time (no way to say how frequently, could be weeks, months, or years depending on cause, wear and corrosion depth, and your environmental situation and frequency of use).

So just use them every so often and it'll keep them in good order.
Thanks, but being a bit ocd, if I wanted to open the buttons up and clean the inside and springs, would my trusted can of isopropyl alcohol be good for contact cleaning and deoxydixing? or should it be better to use deoxit instead? it's not a common brand here in the uk.

Edit: I cleaned the buttons with isopropyl alcohol and replaced the springs with new ones.
As good as new!
