Expression Pedal (volume) curve issue
I don't know if this is normal, or how I can get around the issue, but here it is. I am using the (Fatar) Expression pedal for Volume.
I have a number of patches where I have B3 Bass on the lower, and ANY other patch on the upper.
In the settings, the expression pedal when all the way off, shows the upper at 0% and shows the (lower) B3 Bass at 30%.
I can never make the entire keyboard quiet, or keep the set balance of lower and upper, because as I increase the Expression pedal, the volume of the lower goes up gradually, but the volume of the upper goes up at what I feel is a normal curve. Eventually the right balance is achieved, and then the upper passes the lower in volume and the correct balance is no longer there.
Is there some setting to make the lower go from 0 to 127, because it seems to start at around 30? The upper starts at 0 and works as it should. I hope I explained this right.
What do you think?
Steve

Re: Expression Pedal (volume) curve issue
Hi, is this the same if you have an organ sound on the right? The reason I’m asking is because when the pedal acts like a volume swell on organ it will not go to 0%, it mimics the original swell pedal on the B3 which lowers the volume but does not go completely quiet. This might be handled in a different way for non-organ sounds on the Electro which would explain why you get to 0% on the other sounds and just down to 30% on the organ

Re: Expression Pedal (volume) curve issue
Thanks for responding. It only happens when either the B3 or the B3 Bass is selected for the lower. Not the other organs, only those. Is there no possible setting to change?

Re: Expression Pedal (volume) curve issue
Not as far as I know (I don’t own an Electro), but it’s a normal behavior that organ volume will not go down completely with the volume swell pedal. Is there an option in the Electro system settings to define the function of the pedal?

Re: Expression Pedal (volume) curve issue
There is no option that I can see to define the function of the Expression Pedal. I see what you are saying about it being normal behavior. It's not working for me that way, but I may have to deal with it if I want to continue to use the Expression pedal for volume instead of using the volume pedal I have been using for years with my other keyboards.

Re: Expression Pedal (volume) curve issue
I'm afraid you would have to accept this behaviour for B3, but there are users of the Electro 6 here in this forum who might know a way to deal with it. I am using some Nord Stage only which have a dedicated plug for organ swell, this one can be configured to act like a specific B3 volume swell, or like a common volume control pedal
