After contacting Clavia Nord, I have now received the following answer:

„Unfortunately, the Piano 5 wasn't meant to have a pitch bend. On Page 27 on the manual you can read more about this. We're sorry for the inconvenience.“

I owned an NP 4 and was able to use the pitch wheel of a second keyboard for ANY patch on the NP 4. I also have confirmation from Sweetwater that the NP5 has the same capability.

I can't possibly imagine a technical reason for such a limitation so it has to be about product differentiation. Would a pitch bend wheel on the Piano series really cut into Stage sales all that much?!

Hi Jimkost2002,
What was your setup with Nord Piano to get the Pitch Bend working?
Ie what keyboard did you have connected? I have the Nord Grand and too was led to believe it does not have midi PB listen function as it’s not in the manual nor FW history.
Also, which samples were you able to control the PB of?
As much detail is appreciated so I can check / test myself if it is at all possible.
Cheers,

Can anyone confirm this works?

I play piano most of the time and I kinda wanna do some solo in some pop music I wonder if I can just get nord piano and get a cheap keyboard with a pitch bend to hook in

I just tried again the pitch bend in my NP5 with the latest firmware V 1.32, but without success.

The NP5 is simply unable to reproduce pitch bend in the sample synth section.
