Keybeds in NS3 Compact vs Electro6D
I've been looking to upgrade my setup. I have another keyboard for piano action, but really would like something that mimics an organ action. Having not really played a real Hammond more than a time or two (and it was a few seconds years ago I got the opportunity) I definitely am not going to be sensitive to identical touch to a Hammond. I think all else being equal I'd just get the Stage 3 even though it perhaps does more than I need just because I would like to have the extra features even if they don't appeal to me now. However I have read on this forum that the NS Compact is stiffer than the Electro 6D? Even though they have the same keybed I guess the Stage uses tighter springs? Being the main reason I want something different is for a more true organ action I'm a little concerned the Stage will be too stiff. I had the opportunity to play an Electro 6D at my local store and I liked it a lot but they didn't have a Stage Compact for me to compare it to. Any suggestions or anecdotes about the differences (or lack) in keybed (or anything) would be much appreciated.

If you only buy the one with the features you're after, you'll learn how to play it and there'll be no need for pesky comparisons between ostensibly (AT aside) identical actions.

Re: Keybeds in NS3 Compact vs Electro6D
Before I bought my NS3C in early 2020, I tried to test play it in multiple shops - and they all didn't set up an NS3C, but offered me a NE6D to test with saying it'd be the same action. And to me, it really looked like that, although I'm not fully sure as I never had them side by side.
But of course, there is one difference: The aftertouch strip on the NS3C.

I briefly had an Electro 6D 73 but am returning it to get a Stage 3 Compact despite getting the former for an amazing price.
Both have a Fatar TP/8O keybed, and if there are any differences with springs I’d be surprised - but the springs are able to be replaced.

If there is any difference in the springs, it is minimal (and I suspect there's no difference at all).

Because of the aftertouch on NS3 Compact the action is actually different from that on the Electro. In my opinion much more shallow action on the NS 3 Compact, so I like the Electro-action better - You should really try it out before you buy.

Re: Keybeds in NS3 Compact vs Electro6D
I had my Electro 5 and NS3 sitting side by side for a couple of months after I purchased the NS3. I didn't notice any significant difference in the the actions.
I did not find the NS3 compact to be much more shallow than the Electro.
About the only difference was the NS3 was a touch stiffer, but I'd attribute that to being a brand new keybed versus the Electro which had been played on for a couple of years.

Re: Keybeds in NS3 Compact vs Electro6D
They are the same actions other than the aftertouch on the NS3, which makes the keybed landing just a little "squishy" for lack of a better term. The aftertouch strip makes the keys bottom out a little differently. It's not pure Hammond waterfall like that, but it's a pleasant feeling action.

Went with the Stage 3 Compact. No complaints so far! It's fantastic
