Pitch Bend bug on Electro 6

I have just started getting ready for our first gig since the pandemic hit. I have added a Roland A800 Pro to my Nord E6D so I can make use of the Ext Kbd Lo function. Really useful, it’s like having 2 Electros!

But I have found a bug and forwarded my findings to Nord.

Here you go, create 2 new patches and try this. You will need to connect and external keyboard!
Patch 1

Ext Keyb Lo
Lo = Sample/Synth
Up = EP

Patch 2

Ext Keyb Lo
Lo = Sample/Synth
Up = Organ

Change from patch 1 to patch 2 - pitch bend affects organ.

Let me know if you can reproduce this bug.

It seems something similar is going on on the Stage 3 too. I had noticed that with the Dual KB feature, but since I don't use it regularly I then forgot about the issue... Instead I use Panel MIDI settings, and the bug doesn't seem show up this way, but this is different bewteen the Stage and the Electro. Nevertheless, they seem to be affected by the same (or almost) bug.

Thanks for the link - that is a very similar problem. I've done some more research on this and here's the latest:

Create 2 new patches:
Patch 1
Split - Ext Keyb Lo
Lo = Organ
Up =Piano or Sample

Patch 2
Split - Ext Keyb Lo
Lo = Piano or Sample
Up Organ

Both patches Pitch Bend affects organ

But if the organ in Patch 1 is not assigned to Lo ie assigned to Up or assigned to Up and switched off) no problem. Thankfully I can get around this now.

I will forward this to Nord and see if they reply.

Update: I've had a reply from Nord:

“It does sound like an oversight/bug in the implementation - and is now logged as such here”.
As it is now logged, it should be addressed in the next OS update.

Let's hope they took notice for the equivalent bug in the Stage 3 as well!
