The description of Nord Sample Editor 3 says:
"Compatible with the Nord Stage 3 and Nord Wave 2.
Support for Nord Electro 6, Nord Grand and Nord Piano 4 to be announced. "


Does this mean: Nord stage 2 and in my case Nord Electro 5 should obviously not be considered?

It is certainly understandable that Nord Clavia no longer allows older instruments to benefit from all innovations or further developments, also because this is technically difficult or impossible to accomplish.

However, it is not okay that I can no longer use the previous possibilities of Sample Editor 2.0 when I update to Catalina.
One cannot expect that I will no longer update the operating system with a Mac purchased in 2018. I also consider the suggestion to install Windows on my Mac, just to be able to continue using the previous Sample Editor, as an imposition.

I do not necessarily expect the improvements of Sample Editor 3, but at least the previous possibilities of Sample Editor 2 should also continue to be usable as a 64-bit app with Catalina. As I said: I am not interested in getting further development, but in maintaining the status quo. At the moment, I have to accept a deterioration if I would update to Catalina on my relatively new Mac.

Am I the only one with this problem here? Can't you get Nord to develop a 64-bit version of the sample editor for Nord electro 5 and Nordstage 2?

I have updated to Catalina and unfortunately I cannot use the sample editor.I think nord Clavia is wrong to neglect all those customers who like me have a nord stage 2 and would like to continue using the editor.
I am currently unable to make samples. Really embarrassing for a company like Clavia...

A Catalina compatible Sample Editor 2.0 would be crucial. I bought a Mac in 2019 that came with Catalina installed, I cannot downgrade to Mojave.
So they need to either make 3.0 work wit the Wave 1, or make Editor 2.0 work with Catalina.

I'd try NSE 3.0 if I were you. That's the way I'm reading the compatibility list:

Nord Wave/2
Nord Stage 2/2 EX/3
Nord Piano 2/3/4
Nord Grand
Nord Electro 3/4/5/6

I understand this as "Nord Wave or Wave 2". But don't have either.

They added more compatible instruments in the past months.

The product page for the Sample Editor 3 literally lists the Nord Wave alongside the Nord Stage 2 / 2 EX / 3 as „Compatible products“, and the update history page mentions that support for the older machines (including the Nord Wave) was added in version 3.10 — on March 26, LAST YEAR.

Which would mean AdamJay should try the NSE 3 for his Wave, no? I didn't take the time to look when exactly the compatibility was added.

Absolutely. The Nord Sample Editor 3.1 has been working with his Wave for almost a year now, since five months after Catalina came out.
