That's the beauty of the Internet!

There once was the problem of scarcity of information -- and materials for learners of any field. Things were in books, but you could have access only to a few of them, and their word was "the" right one, more or less, since for the opinion of another person you'd have to wait for his next book...

Now we have the opposite problem: there is too much stuff out there online, and the real skill has become to be able to select among it... Needless to say it is much better nowadays than it used to be, but challenges remain too!

Anyway learning anything nowadays has become incredibly more accessible. For example, could you fathom even a couple of decades ago that you'd be learning music from Gary Peacock himself (may he rest in peace) simply by opening a YouTube tab?



You once had to find and pay the best teacher around... and I bet it wasn't Peacock.

ProblemChild, that's MIDI: the master is the one you only use as a controller, and the voice comes from the slave. That's very different from most humans: Usually the masters have the big mouth.

I dug out my old DX7 to use as second midi keyboard and it worked very well as second manual for dual keyboard with my 6HP. Also great to have full keyboard when using synth section for solos. Enjoyed some of those old DX7 sounds as well! Midi clunky though if tried to use as well to layer some DX7 pads, i.e. to swap master/slave. But anyway cost free solution for me. Just thought could you track down an older second hand synth if difficult to find good affordable midi controller?

This is my first post on this wonderful Forum. Have had my first Nord just over a year and learnt so much from members, such as head scratching detail why control pedal doesn’t take volume to zero for organ, because it is emulating Hammond expression pedal, which also does the same.

I have decided from all my reading that the Studiologic SL760 is the keyboard that would exactly match my Electro3 - 73 and would perform what I want it to do.
Unfortunately, none are for sale at the moment, so I'll just have to wait till one comes around.

The DX7 keyboard isn't bad at all, but sadly Yamaha never fixed the bug related to the maximum MIDI velocity of 100.

So - no Studiologic SL760's to be had anywhere. I settled on a Roland A33 for now but from what I have read I should keep looking for the other one.

That shouldn't be an issue if it's only being used for organ. Otherwise, something like a MIDI Solutions Velocity Converter can fix the problem.

Has anyone tried the Crumar Mojo 61B lower manual with the Electro 6D? The crumar is powered over Midi, does it work with the Electro?
