programs for nord stage 3

Greetings All

Please excuse my ignorance, Ive just purchased a new NS3 and am wondering if which programs and samples are compatible with this keyboard?

Do the programs work on all the nord keyboards, or only work on the ones they were created on?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as Im struggling to find the right sounds for the cover songs I need to do

Regrettably, file types aren't listed in the manual. But as Nord instruments have their own philosophy , it's a good idea to have a look into the manual anyway. It's definitely readable.

What you get from Nord, aren't programs (except from factory restore):
*.npno is a Nord Piano Sample, only provided by Clavia Nord
*.nsmp/nsmp3 is a Nord Synth Sample (2nd and 3rd generation - both usable via the Nord Sound Manager)
Just look into https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-libraries

What you will get from 3rd party, are bundles, programs and the above synth samples:
*.ns3pb is a Stage 3 program bundle (program + content)
*.ns3p is a Stage 3 program
*.ns3y is a Stage 3 synth preset which is always part of a program bundle
No other programs are readable for the Stage 3 as the programs directly refer to the features of the sound engines. Have a look into nord-stage-3-programs-ns3p-ns3pb-files-f32/ on this portal or the affiliated https://nordusersounds.com/

Hi, nothing to excuse and no ignorance, this is a valid question.

The quick answer is that programs work only on the keyboard generation they have been made for, like for example Nord Stage 3 programs work on Nord Stage 3 only, Nord Stage 2 programs work for both Nord Stage 2 and Nord Stage 2EX.

Samples can be shared if they are in .nsmp format, which will be converted by sound manager into the new .nsmp3 format for those keyboard working with the new format.
