Rev. A vs B -- what's it worth?

I'm looking at buying an NS2 76. I've found some used/open box, but some are Rev A. I'm not sure the "general community" is even aware that there is a Rev A/B, but since I am, I want to make sure I'm not slighting myself.

What's the general perceived benefit of Rev B? I don't think I'll end up with a triple pedal, so I'm not concerned about those features. What about the arp hold? I'm not even quite sure what this means? Is this something that can be addressed via menu in Rev A models? How useful is it? Seems like it must be somewhat of a big deal if Clavia would go out and manufacture completely new hardware to address it!

So the ultimate question, how many dollars is Rev B worth above Rev A?

I'd say if you're not big on the synth section and you're not going to want to use the arpeggiator and have a dedicated hold button for it, then there's no difference. I don't think we got an answer either way on if the functionality was completely back-ported to the rev A hardware, so that would be interesting to know, but if you're not concerned about all of the features then it shouldn't matter.

The arp hold is a button-based way to latch your keypress to hold down your arpeggio, basically. Same effect as if you held down the sustain pedal, only, ah, without the pedal.

Ok... think I understand the arp hold now. I guess what confused me is that in not every picture is the word "HOLD" printed above the arp hold button... lots of pictures just show it as saying "on", so it wasn't clear that this was the arp hold button?

It seems as if some Rev A users say you can do an arp hold by double hitting the arp on button? Can anyone confirm.

Either way seems like a pretty minor thing -- kind of surprised they went through a whole new hardware rev for these minor changes.

oh hey you're right, those pictures all over the web (and on Nord's page) are wrong - this is what mine looks like:

Which clearly says "HOLD ON" and not just "ON" which is redundant, ambiguous and confusing:

Rev. A is also missing the KeybdGate functionality (ability to temporarily switch off a Section using the Latch pedal), that is the one which most likely required reenginering the HW too therefore, according to Clavia, cannot be implemented on rev-A.

Besides as discussed in another topic http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-stage ... t2269.html , the Hold button in the Synth section is not just an "Arpeggiator-hold", but a general "latch-button" for the Synth, i.e. it works also wehne Arpeggiator is OFF (I cannot say if this also happens on rev-A by double tapping the Arp-ON button)
