NW2 - Octave shift not working with VSTs
Hello !
I recently bought a NW2 and am more than happy with this unit !
I am willing to use it as my main controller for my Daw and VSTs.
Problem : the octave shift function is not working at all. I tried to modify the midi parameters of the unit but nothing helps.
Does anyone have an idea about this issue et how to solve it ?
Thank you so much for your help !

Hi and welcome.
Check the parameter "Transpose MIDI At" of MIDI menu (see manual)

Re: NW2 - Octave shift not working with VSTs
That is the problem !
I contacted The Nord support, but they redirected me to the their country dealer and I all got was this message :
1) Transpose (both the on-panel button and Sound menu “Global Transpose”) will transpose outgoing MIDI if the “Transpose MIDI At” setting in MIDI menu is set to “Out”. Default is “In” (which transposes incoming MIDI).
2) Octave Shift buttons do not transpose outgoing MIDI on the Global MIDI Channel. To use Octave Shift buttons for transposing MIDI (by octaves) use the Layer MIDI channels to send (Global MIDI ch set to “Off”).
I modified the transpose midi out as requested as well as switching the global midi to off... No effect at all.
Do you have any idea how to contact directly Nord in order to get a solution ?
I tried to contact my country dealer but no answer until now...
I find quite surrealistic that a keyboard costing >2.5k is not able to deal with a simple octave shift via Midi...
Help would be more than welcome.

Re: NW2 - Octave shift not working with VSTs
So... in MIDI Settings 2/6 you set Global to Off, and in MIDI settings 3/6 you set e.g. layer channels to 1, 2, 3 and 4, right?
Now, try this: select layer A and hit the octave shift down twice to set a -2 octave shift on layer A. Similarly set -1 on layer B, +1 on layer C and +2 on layer D.
When I do that, and have all 4 layers active, and play e.g. a middle D (D3) I get 4 MIDI note on messages: A D1 on channel 1, D2 on channel 2, D4 on channel 3 and D5 on channel 4.
I can even shift-octave to enable global shifting of all layers at the same time, and move them down/up one or two octaves -- however, note that if you shift more than two octaves combined, it clips at 2, so if you try to add -1 local and -1 global, it works, but -2 and -2 remains clipped at -2. So the shift range is between -2 and +2. But you can use either the layer or the global shift function for doing this.
Isn't that working for you?
The latest OS is 1.12 (sorry for the typo previously).

Re: NW2 - Octave shift not working with VSTs
Did you get this working?? Transpose Midi at has two settings: In and Out. Neither seems to do anything differently as far as the octave shift on my Wave2. What am I missing here?
