Stage 3 sound cutting out intermittently

Just bought a Stage 3 (new) and very intermittently, it seems to go into panic mode and cut out completely. It's nothing to do with the external mixer/speaker as the fix is simply releasing the keys an re-pressing them. Small data set for this but I was using both panels, Organ + Synth - wondered if this is a bug anyone's seen (OS v 2.10) or whether I have a faulty unit and should take up with Nord... Cheers.

I never experience this when I'm just playing,
but sometimes it happens when I have edited and saved a program and immediately after that, I go to another program. After a few seconds the second program cuts out.

I have the same issue when playing both panel A and B simultaneously. Really needs to be fixed :S

Are you hooked up to the Sound Manager at the time?

Are you pushing the limits of polyphony with multiple layers of complex synths/samples? I've noticed all along that there are voice drops for big layered things, although I believe later OS versions have made this a bit better. I never saw any of this on the NS2, which I used for 8-9 years before moving to NS3. I sometimes wonder if the overall performance of the NS3 is taxed by having seamless transitions and a more deep synth section. Like the combo of the two, along with playing parts that max out the polyphony, cause the sort of thing the original poster is mentioning here.

My NS3 does this only when hooked up to Nord Sound Manager on a Mac. Seems to be a periodic re-synchronisation.

The polyphony issue is not resolved. I sent a Clavia support request about this after the arrival of 2.52. My canadian support did not know about it, so I sent him my past emails with Clavia. It tooks a few days and he wrote back that the issue with two layer synths was still there and the time frame for a fix was unknown.
I do not know if it is really a software bug...

Please can you update to os 2.5.2 and run the test again? if possible could you film or record what happens?

Was it delivered to you? if so, what carrier?. If there is a problem where it's crashing constantly then the dealer needs to take this back and replace it. simple as that. not fit for purpose.

Your symptoms don't suggest polyphony crashes because you're running dual organ and dual synth. would would get polyphony dropouts and we all do get them because of the limited polyphony of the synth / sample synth engine, but not what would appear to be your described symptoms.

Sorry folks, don’t come on here enough to spot the replies ! I’d realised that it is after editing a program, 100% consistently, after a few seconds the sound cuts out but the keyboard immediately recovers. Just means if I hit Save and keep playing - any notes in flight a few seconds later will be chopped. Bit of a glitch I think but manageable once you know why. MvanD - looks like you have the same problem, not just me then ! Cheers
