NS3 USB cable with iPad

Hi

I ordered this USB B to lightning cable:


And it works nice to connect my iPad with forScore to my NS3. Midi patch are sent for each song.

My only concern is that the iPad is not charging

My question: why is it not charging, is it a cable issue? or the NS3 is not able to provide enough load...? Is another cable working?

A USB device (type B connector) like NS3 cannot charge, as it is supposed to receive power from the USB Host (computer, tablet, other, type A connector) it is connected to and that in the USB standard is the one supposed to provide power...

That’s why the official Apple Lightning-USB3 adapter has a separate port for charging + powering attached devices.

However a fully charged iPad can work for several hours, so not a big issue
