Some recording troubles
Im having some trouble with my nord electro 3 hp when recording. From the nord I use 2 1/4 inches and go direct in to my apogee duet, which in the past produced a stereo sound. Recently, it hasn't been stereo, or mono really, it's in between sounding, the pan effects don't really work, they stay in the middle, not like mono where there is still movement. Anyways, I've tried different cables, and I checked the setting on my nord, it's still stereo out. Is there something wrong with my apogee? It shows the 2 signals going in, maybe it's not registering it? Any help would be great, I haven't found anything on the Internet, and I'm going crazy. Also, I've tested with headphones and monitors, no difference.
Thanks so much!
Julian

Re: Some recording troubles
Hello Julian,
I would check the Output's (Sum to Mono) feature first. Then if that's not the problem, carefully recheck all of the Apogee's settings.
(you're right, the problem probably isn't the Nord)
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Some recording troubles
I'd recommend some type of test that will help narrow the problem conclusively to either the Nord, or the Apogee interface.jtdestroyer wrote:Yeah, I forget to mention that I checked that as well. I don't know what to do!!
Do you have any type of sound system that you can plug the Nord into as a test?
Can you disconnect either the left or right side input going into the Apogee to see if any part of the connected signal appears in the disconnected side's output? (summing)(software panning)
Cheers, Hanon
