For several days I have been the owner of Nord Stage 3 88 (last OS). I previously had Stage 2 EX. I had the opportunity to compare them with each other. I think that this instrument still has a lot of imperfections, but about it in another post ...
Can I have the same leslie sound as in NS2EX? (NS3s leslie doesn't have this beautiful crunch sound of NS2EX and also there seems to be a huge "hole" in the lower bass spectrum, it's uninspiring)
I prefer the reverb to be at the end of the audio path, like my NS2 EX. I don't like the current setting, it sounds very bad. Is it possible?
You cannot change the order of rotary and reverb, unfortunately.
As for the sound, have you tried the 122 close miked setting? And maybe changed the balance to 60/40 or something else than the defaults? And vintage setting 1 or 2?
Also, try adding a bit of drive from the Amp Sim / EQ section.
lukas_music wrote:Of course, I tried all of this. Leslie still sounds completely different to me.
Why not give it a choice to users: old leslie or new leslie model... ?
Sorry, didn't mean to insult you Was just meant as a friendly suggestion in case you were not aware - it's a topic that comes up from time to time and those suggestions may have helped some previously. And I thought you asked, not just vented an opinion.
As for why not allowing both, I guess 1) the NS3 had a lot of architectural changes so a lot of blocks may have been rewritten or reengineered in some ways, and keeping also the old settings may have required more man-hours than available, and 2) the Nord philosophy is not about offering many options, but limit the choices to a few good ones.
But these are just my guesses.

I agree with all of you! Maybe Clavia can make a update that tweaks all B-3 settings?
Nord Stage 3 Compact, Roland AX-7 keyboard guitar. Past keyboards and modules. Roland A-70 Controller, Kurzweil K25OORS Sampler, Roland D-50, Korg NSR5 module, Juno 60, Roland 106, Korg Poly 6, Yamaha DX-7, Hammond B-3 with 122 Leslie...
They already did several times, the last quite some time ago. I think we can assume that the Hammond engine is now how Clavia intends the Stage 3 to sound.
These users thanked the author analogika for the post:
The B3 sound on the Stage EX was better than either of these Stage 3's!This Stage 2EX B3 sound is inferior to this Electro 2 as well!
A100 samples of the old Stage EX and Electro 2 are the most accurate Nord have released. Why they would ruin these tweaks is beyond me.
I only have EVERY(sorry X77/X66/H100 fans!) 'desirable' Hammond and Leslie which to compare them all with.(BCV/BV/B2/A100/M3/M102) etc
Nord keeps dorking around trying to reinvent the wheel?Only the C2D bails them out,and not by much!
Obwanz,this B2 is a late '53,smooth drawbars.....kicks the pants off any B3 I've played,so much for 'B3' domination of that genre.Also prefer these A100's to a B3.
The B3 sounds on this NS3-HA88 aren't the best Nord has released. The Neo Ventilator saves the day again! Also run the Nord Stage organs through a Boss Space Echo pedal first
to get some pre-emphasis saturation, the Nord is totally lame, expecting us to use those ridiculous amp sims.
It's been two weeks since a Stage 3 OS update.....come on Nord, where's our daily backpedal? Obvious they have reached the plateau.....and have run out of ideas.
NS3C NS2EX88 C2D Yamaha MOX8 Behringer Model D (5) Behringer Neutron (5) Roland Lucina AX9 12 Hammonds/Leslies.(BV/BCV/B2/3 A100's/M3/M102 etc.

It's also been summer here in Scandinavia, and I guess most Clavia personnel have been having their vacations, as everyone normally does here

i really, really want to believe that you're talking just about the Hammond itself, because with the internal Leslie simulation the Hammond emulation in the Electro 2, while great for its time, is hopeless against a Stage 2 or Stage 3. I still have the Electro 2 to compare against.
What they never managed on newer machines is a distortion as beautifully nasty as on the Electro 2.
Never used any Nord Leslie sims.Who cares if the 3 is better? People who don't use a Neo Vent! Through a Vent any clone will improve, thankfully.
Yes the Electro 2 has a better menu(gain stage) than any Stage organ.
Why anyone would base their Stage purchase on the B3 sim? is beyond me.
Only the pianos and real time controls bail it out IMO.

Coincidentally... what Yamaha has never managed on their newer machines is a simulated tube distortion as good as what they had on the pre-Motif boards, the S30/S80.
