Nord Electro 5D Sustain Pedal Issue
I'm experiencing strange sustain pedal issues.
During performances the sustain pedal doesnt work as expected and sometimes the sound is sustained even if the pedal is not pressed, sometimes is not sustained at all.
I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the pedal because I have tried these two (both new) with no result:
- Proel GF01
- Proel GF29
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

(Hi/ciao and welcome to NUF...)
Have you checked the Sustain pedal setting in the NE5 System menu and/or tried to change the polarity on the pedal with its switch (GF29 and GF01 have it)?

OK but don't try to "guess" it, I suggest you set it to Open and then check that the pedal is also set accordingly; if still not working you may have a problem with the sustain input jack that may have loosened and/or need service (replacement or just resoldering to the mainboard).riccardoNE5 wrote:Yes, i have tried different settings (open / close) on the keyboard and on the pedals

Yes I set all accordingly but the problem remains.
Do you know how much the repair could cost me?

Re: Nord Electro 5D Sustain Pedal Issue
They should not ask you much, as it's a quite simple fix, but an official service cannot go below a certain amount, just try and ask; if your NE5 is already out of warranty it would be best if you have a friend with some experience in electronics that can check (and maybe also fix) it for you (and also check that the pedals switches are working properly, even if it is unlikely that both have problems, I use a GF01 sometimes on my NS2 and have no issues, apart its noisy spring)riccardoNE5 wrote:Yes I set all accordingly but the problem remains.

Re: Nord Electro 5D Sustain Pedal Issue
Check this post. Could it be that you depressed the pedal during bootup?

Re: Nord Electro 5D Sustain Pedal Issue
That is the case only when you use the Auto setting, not if you explicitly set to Open/Closed as the OP says to have tried too.CountFosco wrote:Check this post. Could it be that you depressed the pedal during bootup?

@riccardoNE5: last question, do you have anything else (second keyboard, computer, tablet...) attached to the NE5 via MIDI?

Re: Nord Electro 5D Sustain Pedal Issue
I just have a korg expression pedal attached. I connected the keyboard via MIDI to my laptop some time ago but this shouldn't break anything
