Re: NS3 - Set List Maker - PrgChange via Quicco BT MIDI
Hi guys
I'm back from my technical hike, and I tried every possible connection. Also I contacted in parallel SetList Maker. Before I bought the mi.1 I checked the compatibility with SLM. All good! I tried connecting directly MIDI I/O with the NS3 = nada! I tried using the Roland 800 out as the power source = nada! I have another Roland controller board the A80. Tried using that for power = nada! Then I crosschecked if the NS3 receives any PrgCH. It did! Btw, the 800 MERGE was set to on, both ports routed to out! TOTAL FRUSTRATION! I'm seeing myself changing complex patches plus choosing the songs combined with a little prayer in 2 5 hour wedding gigs! Tomorrow I'll downgrade to my iRig cable mess to at least have a plan 'B'. Still waiting on Arlos comments. Maybe I'll still be lucky!?

I just checked my NS3 (with a Fluke DVM) and it runs at 3.3 V (3.297 V or thereabout), so yours must be different. I have an early model - maybe there has been a production change, if you have a newer version?Hobster wrote: I recently modified the MIDI Out of my NS3 Compact by adding an ATMega328 microprocessor circuit (to modify outgoing MIDI messages) in place of the fuse that Nord use in their MIDI out circuit and the NS3 MIDI voltage was running at 4.8V (I checked with a 'scope) plus the Nord's logic chips which were driving the MIDI Out were supplied by the 5V rail...

@baekgaard Mine's quite an old model (bought December 2017).
Did you check the voltage on the MIDI socket's +ve supply pin (pin 4) or the other side of the MIDI pull-up resistor (next to the fuse)?
I'm wondering if there's a difference (though there shouldn't be if nothing's connected to the MIDI out).
And, was the MIDI out connected to anything?

@Hobster mine is even older
I just checked on the outside, i.e. the potential between pins 4 and 2, iirc. Nothing connected.

Then you have to do te last test: connect the Quicco to the Mac (soundcard MIDI interface) and use Mainstage or MIDI Monitor to see if It works and if Setlist Maker is actually sending anything to it...iDemo wrote:...I tried two checked alternative nidi outs regarding power... no result!
