There seems to be a small problem with these two new "pianos' on my Nord Stage 2: If You load the samples it is only possible in the Epiano2 section, but they are gone from there when loading is finished. I found them in the Grand Section, but only after a restart of the Nord Sound Manager.

But especially the Vibraphone sounds ( in Stereo) so good that I played almost 2 hours around in split with a nice base and tweaked with the tremolo and A-Pan effect controlled by the control pedal.

Thank You Nord!

Wow, GREAT addition! Thanks Clavia!

The vibraphone can easily be tamed with a bit of EQ, and I love its percussive potential. The Marimba is smooth and nicely woody.

And yes, it is great to see more multilayer sounds in the .npno format.

Loaded them into both the Stage 2EX and Electro 6.

I personally like the vibes more than the marimba, but I also don't have much use for the marimba overall anyway. I do hear a better "organic" quality to both samples.

I also prefer the mono samples over the stereo; they just seem to be more present. The overall improvement in expressiveness is a great touch. I can now play the vibes sound with more nuance.

I upgraded the OS on the E6, but personally don't hear much difference in the tremolo. It sounds the same (and just as good) on the Stage. Maybe I'm missing something.

As I understand it, once the tremolo kicks in, it sounds like before -- but it allows the attack portion of the mallet (vibraphone and marimba) sounds to come through without any attenuation. So for the epianos etc, if you start a note when the tremolo is in a "down period" (so to speak, i.e.the overall sound is attenuated), the attack will be attenuated as well. However, when playing the new mallet sounds, the attack comes through at full strength even if the tremolo would otherwise be in a "down" period and the attack would have been attenuated.

So for epianos etc, the tremolo mimics running the piano through a conventional tremolo pedal. But for the mallets, it works the same way a real vibraphone works, with a mechanical contraption (sort of a fan) that modulates the amplitude but still allows the attack to be heard at full volume.

It's a really nice touch :-)

Thanks for the explanation. It is indeed a very thoughtful thing!

On the Stage 2EX the new mallets load into the Grand Piano section. I wasn’t expecting that.

Has anyone tried loading these into a E5? I am wondering even without the new filters and eq capabilities if they sound better than the vibes already in the 5 in your opinion.

Of course they do. It´s multilayer. The vibe even has damper on sounds :)

No need to guess, when you read that NE4 is not listed as compatible on the official page of those samples (reason being that NE4 has no support for 6.x .npno samples, in general)
