I dowloaded and tested them.
Didn't suit me, found the usage rather narrow.
Deleted them quickly .

Worth it? They're free, and since they use existing samples, take no additional piano memory (if you were going to load the EP sample sets they're based on anyway). Everyone's tastes will be different, can't hurt to try 'em out.

If you were asking if it's worth buying a Stage 3 or E6 just to get the Ondre J EPs, that's a pretty high bar. ;-)

If you want to know basically what they sound like, Nord has a nice video demo, which might be more useful than asking people whether they personally liked them, where some will say yes and others will say no... at least you'll be judging them based on your own personal taste. But also, as for other people's opinions, remember, people trying them on a newer board have the benefit of being able to decide whether they like them better than the other EP sounds with the new EP filters, which is an option you don't have. So even if they say they didn't prefer them to others they had, they might still prefer them to others available on your Nords.

I loaded these and they are now pretty much all I use. They are light-years better than any of the Nord Rhodes programs that came bundled with the Electro 6. Six programs, all different enough to cover just about any Rhodes application, in our setlists anyway.

It's also worth noting which EPs he chose to use - and which he didn't. He used EP1 (always my fave), EP4 (the 80s board), EP5 (the bright one, twice), EP6 (Sparkletop) and EP8 (Nefertiti).

No love for Ep2, the terrible EP3, and the amped Ep7.

Might be worth me loading them up then, thanks @Gambold!

Shame no love for the EP7 though, I rather like it.

His descriptions are good. I had never heard of Richard Tee.

Another value is seeing how a pro builds a program - and you can always swap the amped EP in any of them and see how it goes.
