Yes, there is a big difference in price between the E3 and the Stage ($2k vs $3k to start). I think it would be ideal if a Stage did everything an E3 does and more. Right now, if you're looking at buying an E3 and thinking about stretching your budget for the extra features of a Stage, you also have to deal with the fact that you're also losing a bunch of features, meaning that buying a more expensive Nord becomes a harder decision than it should be.

The Wave is kind of in a different category, it has much more synth capability than a Stage.

Yeah I agree. The E3 should be more of a cheap version of the stage for people not opting to spend enough money. It feels wrong to have such an expensive keyboard as the stage, that is actually beaten in several places by a much cheaper keyboard (the E3). Lots of people probably end up buying the E3 because the Stage is not impressive enough to spend the extra cash on.

Also while a stage 2 might compete with Nord's other products, it also competes with other brands (Roland, Korg, Yamaha). And right now I'm imagining new people going to buy a new flagship keyboard looking at the stage and maybe not being overly impressed, ending up buying another keyboard. That guy could have bought a Stage 2 instead, if it had the features it should have.

So overall it might not be so bad for business to make a Stage 2.

Also people that currently have a Stage Classic(like me) and maybe even a Stage EX, migh be willing to buy a stage 2 to replace their current board.

I agree what you say. A Nord Stage 2 would be a very good thing !

In 1 week, we'll be fixed.

Stage flagship of Clavia? Correct me if I'm wrong, but my first Nord was Lead... and I always see Nord as the best VA company.
In our days is a little behind vs Access and some manufacturers so my toughs are they will catch up and present us ''almighty'' VA synth.

Maybe I'm wrong...but as i see it, Stage EX is still competitive with all other brands. And I LOVE the most about my Stage that is not computer with keys like Motif etc, but IT IS musical instrument.
So i really hope that they will not go that way...
and my biggest hopes goes for new VA synth with computer programming and support for their samples witch are TOP OF THE CLASS!
So a mixture of Wave and Modular with our days VST support will be phenomenal. I for sure would buy one and i think somebody else too;)

P.S.: I do not see anybody with Stage EX complaining about their instrument and hoping for Stage 2... just ''boys'' with classic and I really don't see why... looks like your classic is good enough, you didn't even buy EX...

Que sera sera... we can only APPRECIATE Clavia for making different keyboards from other companies. It takes a lot of guts! But looks it worked for them... Almost every professional keyboardist is having one NORD;)

I somewhat agree, but considering the hassle involved selling the classic and paying a lot of money to just have 256 MB of memory and the string resonance I think it isn't as simple as you say. I'd better buy an upgrade kit instead, without any doubt.

On the other hand, having a new Stage to choose, with the newer B3 engine, string resonance, an updated VA synth and/or the wave sound engine, it would be very different, IMHO.

For sure! But I can not see clearly why those things (also Sample support) can not be fixed with OS update... It would be MUCH BETTER.

oopppss!!!! I forgott to add real drawbars to my stage 2 dreams.

I now that half a year ago Clavia did contact the Voce inc. designer to ask him for the drawbars in their products, where to obtain them, because Clavia wanted to add real drawbars to their products.

So, who knows!!

I'm sorry that you see it as a personal attack. It wasn't toughed like that... I also would like to see Stage 2. But when some folks start talking about Clavia's betrayal if they don't release it...I admit it raise my temperature. Because in our days isn't lot of companies like Clavia. It all became one big game after the Money and I don't like it. Music should come from the heart not the wallet.
And I know it would be awesome to have a keyboard with 2+GB memory...oh no, I do have (Motif XF), but let me tell you it doesn't feel like tenth of Stage.
And I do regret that can not load all the piano sounds in my Stage, but let me tell you...I load only one and it beat ALL the Motifs.
But I would really like to see more Sample memory in my Electro and Wave...Because like I already said FOR ME the Clavias samples are their flagship. And its very likely that I didn't use the word flagship correctly, but FOR ME the most precious Clavias product are their SAMPLES.

Nord Stage 2
with 512mb flash, string resonance, new B3 modeling, sample support and Lead 3 synth section... for real IT WOULD BE OUTSTANDING and I would buy one in a second.

But for real...there will be no space for other product in their line.

We can dream...but i prefer the reality. And I do LOVE Clavia for making such wonderful instruments and really breaks my heart when some people spit over company who retrieving soul back into keys...

It might be possible to add sample support of some sort with a software update, but I think the improved organ of the C1/E3 requires hardware that is not in the Stage.
