Mellotron moving strings

Hi there!
Does anyone know if the mellotron moving strings sound can be played without the rhythm section?
I mean if you can play a melody or chords with that sound.

Re-sample them and make an .nsmp with the sample editor. You will make it a smaller sample, and memory is always welcome!
