Looking for organ settings

Post by Schorsch »

Hello,

is anyone able to tell me how to do the settings of my NS2 and NS3 Organ section to achieve the sound which can be heard in the intro (3rd take) of this song?

I tried a couple of things on both Stage 2 and Stage 3 but am not able to get it at least very close to this sound, I’m still a beginner in this regard

Thanks a lot for any hints :)
Regards Schorsch

First, you’re going to need a crappier organ than the Stage 2 or 3.

But you can get close to what that organ is trying to do, with percussion 3rd soft fast, no vibrato or chorus, and something like 888000000. Maybe a bit of the sixth drawbar.

Turn up the highs in the EQ to try to get the Hammond emulation sounding all shitty and plastic-like as on the original.

I don´t know, i think it sounds pretty much like a Nord, but with crappy settings. Something like 4448.
Just curious, why would you want a crappy sound?
Why not make a crappy song better with a nice sound?

That clip reminded me of KB3 Mode, 15-20 years ago

I am afraid, I have to disappoint you:
years ago, the HÖHNER used a Yamaha S90, today they use a KRONOS - and that is the reason, for this comparatively "flat" organ-sound

I was going to say, it sounds a bit like the organs on my old SY77 and the Motif XS. The plasticky bright attack is pretty Yamaha.

The Kronos organ would sound way more realistic in the mix.

Right, Peter preferred the Yamaha, but Micki brought the Kronos Sound into their songs. However, I was just curious about the drawbar settings to achieve that sort of sound, my intention was not to build it as flat and plastic-like as it sounds on the recording
