I would prefer the K8.2's, but concerned it wouldn't be enough speaker coverage. I do not need a lot of bottom for my style of playing (mostly piano/strings+organ), and we do have a Bass player, but the old school rule was always at least a 12" speaker, especially for keyboards.
I would love to be able to get away with the 8.2's (Weight+Size wise) but just a little apprehensive about an 8" speaker!
So get the K10.2. You’ll feel good about it.

Always willing to help a forumite spend their money :D

Take the time to familiarize yourself with the product. The new K.2 series has a ton of adjustability. There are DSP presets and then a very flexible EQ on top of that. You can store "scenes" to fit different playing scenarios. Experiment with different connections scenarios with and without a mixer.

When I play without a mixer, I plug the Left and Right outputs from the Stage into the A and B inputs on the K.2. Some people say this introduces phasing as opposed to a single mono connection, but I think it gives a slightly fuller sound. If you are going through a mixer (you're sending to FOH, so I assume you are), this is probably not necessary.

EDIT: I just saw that you put a mic on the keyboard speaker to send to the board? You can do better by sending a direct line out from the back of the K.2 to the board. Will be much better sound.

Have a blast with your new speaker!

I am hoping to get away without using a mixer. I plan to plug my Yamaha CP-4 into one input (A input ?), and my Nord Electro 5HP into the other (B input ?).
My brother thinks I will need a mixer, so I will experiment and if I need to I will get a small one!

The Electro 5 directly into the QSC didn't go as loud as I'd expected, I think the QSC wants to see a hotter signal. Mixer solves that.

I use a single K10.2 for bar settings or similar size situations and it sounds excellent. Plenty of bass - I barely have the bass up on my mixer. I have seen a lot of positive reviews of the 8.2's as well for keyboard. I use to use a K12, but like the K10.2 so much better especially for the pianos. Hard to say if it is the difference in size or improvement in the K.2 line. For me, the size and weight were a pretty significant difference even though the specs are not that much different. Just that additional size and weight of the 12 made it a heavy, bulky climb up a flight of stairs, whereas the 10.2 is more manageable.

What is the best setting application to use for keyboards on your QSC K.2 speaker?
I read the Stage Monitor-2 was for keyboards, but I thought there might be someone on the forum that is using the QSC K.2's might have some advice and insight from actual use at their gig! :?:

I would use the Default setting and EQ to taste. In my experience, the presets are not that usable-
